We just got back today from a long vacation to visit the Cousins. More on that later, but I wanted to record the latest installment of Birthday 20 Questions.  Here are Peyton’s 5th birthday answers:

It’s funny, the kids are so different, yet in some ways, they are the same.  When I was asking Brandon the 20 questions, I was using Peyton’s last answers to prompt me.  It’s like Brandon was playing “The Newly Wed Game”, as many of his answers matched hers.  And he wasn’t even near me to read them!

This year she had a harder time coming up with answers.  I think it’s because my aunt was there listening in, and she got shy.

While Peyton does her puzzles, she often drifts into song, I think without even knowing it.  She also says very strange things, like, “Oh no! My catty is dying.  Because she’s all alone.”  When I ask her what she is talking about, she says, “I dunno.”  Later, she said, “That’s what I’m talking about!  I’m trying to work!”  She is kind of like her dad.
Brandon had an “All about Me” poster due today at school.  Some highlights of the poster included that his favorite food is “Oysters,” his favorite color is “gold” and that his favorite place is “Hawaii.”
So I printed out the list of 20 questions, and gave the survey to both kids individually.  I started with Peyton, who almost played a word association with me, answering very quickly, almost whatever popped into her head.  But the thing about it was that her answers were within context!  Brandon had a harder time, pausing to think of an answer, sometimes missing the mark (saying Winter for holiday).  Peyton didn’t miss a beat.  Here are their respective answers, Peyton, then Brandon.
