Pants on Fire

I picked Peyton up after work, and we went to pick up oranges for her birthday party at school. We rushed home, and I got her lunch. After lunch, she went upstairs to take a nap on her own. I went to check after I’d finished washing up dishes, and she was sound asleep, mouth open. I started a load of laundry, then went in to my own room. I was working on a puzzle that I’d gotten for Peyton, but ended up starting on my own. I set my alarm just in case I lost track of time, then just after it went off, about 130p, Peyton came in to the room. I helped her change out of her jammies (from jammie day) to some regular clothes. We left for piano lessons. I brought my own stickers, so I could keep her engaged and encouraged. She did a MUCH better job today! She knows the answers, but she won’t call out aloud, as she is too shy. Today, the teachers came around individually and worked with the kids. We were learning about half notes and half rests, and Peyton knew of “the hat” already. The teacher didn’t think the kids could grasp the concept of holding down the key for 2 counts for the half note, instead clapping out the rhythm. While they were going around watching the kids, I asked Peyton to play the notes as written. She got it and held down the notes as requested. I’ll practice more with her at home this week, but I think we’ll start private lessons to speed things along. We left piano and headed back to school for her birthday party.  The classroom was still dark, even though it was after 3pm.  The teachers were just getting back from break, and we walked in with them. Peyton helped me peel the oranges after we both washed our hands.  She really helped out, and it would’ve taken longer had I not had her help. She did one for every 1.5 that I did, so she almost held her own.  She went to sit down with her classmates.  The teacher started reading a story, while I was chatting with Ms Tarez who stopped by.  After she left, I sat down with the kids, too.  The birthday celebrants were making crowns, and it was taking a little longer because the kids were decorating them.  Finally, the birthday kids stood in the center.  Connor, another boy, was waiting for Peyton to finish with her crown. He didn’t care about the other girl who had joined him, but kept calling for Peyton to join him in the middle.  The two of them were giggling and talking to each other in the middle, while the class surrounded them.  I took some pictures and a video of their class birthday song, including “blowing out the candles”.

It’s amazing how they can get all the kids sitting down in front of a plate of snacks, and wait like dogs in front of a meal.  They wait until all the friends are seated and then the teacher will say they can start, and then they all dig-in.  They could sit at any plate, but Peyton chose her own seat that had a pink cupcake.  She also sat next to Tyler 😉  I guess she’s been playing with more boys lately.
We left to get Brandon from CDC.  Somehow I didn’t believe his tale of the chocolate given to him by the teacher, so I asked around.  But the teacher wasn’t there. Nor was the kid that he supposedly gave it to.  I asked him again, on the way out, and he started to sound suspicious.  He asked me why I wanted to know about the chocolate, and I told him I just wanted the truth.  Finally, I suspected that he had lied about the whole thing yesterday, and he had eaten the candy.  I told him I’d check with Tyler, and then he started to sound nervous.  That was all I needed.  I reinforced honesty, and I told him we were going to movie night tonight.  Dave didn’t come back until 630 pm or so, so it was better.  Both kids took their baths before Dave came home, and we sat down for dinner together as soon as he got home.  Tomorrow is busy with baseball scouting, then the basketball game after.  We won’t be free until 11 am!

Sweet Kids

The last two mornings, Dave has taken the kids to school, while I’ve gotten in to work by 7 am. Yesterday, the kids heard the commercial for the Sing-A-Long Frozen that is out in theaters as of today. Peyton was so excited, and she said, “I have to tell Mommy!” I did consider taking her, as the thought of being in a theater full of a singing audience did NOT appeal to Dave. This morning, I headed out the door while Brandon was getting his breakfast together (I lay it out the night before now, and pour milk in a cup for him), I told him the plan for today, and as I was leaving, he said, “Have a good day at work!” It took me off guard, then I closed the door. I was still smiling when I went back to the kitchen and told him to have a good day at school. He said, “I know.” 🙂

CNY

Today started very early. Actually, with the growing pains last night, it started last night, as I went to stay with Peyton to calm the pains down. Of course, when I’m in her bed, especially now that the rail isn’t there for me to lean on, I’m not able to sleep well. I got up and got myself ready for work. I was there by 7 am, while Dave got the kids to school. I got off a little after 330 pm, then headed to pick up Peyton and then Brandon. I told both kids how I needed it to be quiet during our drive or at least no fighting. When Frozen is on, it’s never “quiet”. But our drive went well, despite traffic, and the kids were nice to each other, despite not having anything else but the CD to keep them occupied. Brandon did tell me about his friend, Albert, who passed out red envelopes with a gold coin to each child. It’s a one dollar coin, Brandon said. He also told me his teacher at CDC passed out a chocolate one, but he said he gave it to his friend Tyler. I asked why he did that. He said, “I didn’t want to eat it, because I don’t know her that well.” I told him she’s his teacher. He told me, “But yea, I don’t ‘know her, know her’, like I don’t know her friends or anything.” I can’t really be sure unless I ask Tyler, so I’ll have to take his word for it. We made it up to the city by 5:30pm, almost 2 hours after I was done with work! My mom was there already, and they were just finishing up with MJ. Brandon knew he had homework to do, so he got his spelling done with Peyton’s help. She gave him the words, and then checked his work after. While she was grading his work, he went into the room to read from his computer program. Dinner was ready while Brandon was reading, so he stopped to take a food break. The kids got started in the kitchen first, and both ate their share. Both loved my grandma’s scallop and fungus soup, though I didn’t tell them it was fungus. I’d brought them clothes, and both took showers there, then brushed teeth. Brandon asked me why they were taking a bath there. I told him if he did, he could stay longer. He seemed to agree with that logic and did what he was told. We hung out a bit longer, then took off by 730pm. Brandon was excited about his money that he’d received. He was able to count it all up properly, and discussed what he would do with it. He said he was going to take $10 and spend them on Pokemon cards. I asked what he was going to do with them when he is in high school. He said, “Well, I’m just going to show MY kids. But MUCH, MUCH later.” (I was hoping he wasn’t going to show his kids the cards while he was in high school…) Dave and I took off in two separate cars. Both kids stayed awake during the car ride home, and they were busy talking to each other the whole way back. Dave was surprised no one fell asleep! He beat us home, then ushered kids up to bed. It’s 9pm, and a little later than usual, but hopefully they can keep it together for one more day. There’s movie night tomorrow, and the kids were busy reviewing the movie (DM2), talking about the minions, and which turned purple first (Brandon says Dave), and who El Macho was. Then, Brandon told Peyton, “Let’s just watch it tomorrow. Let’s not give it away anymore.”

Growing Pains

I think Peyton is experiencing growing pains! She thrashed around at night, kicking and fighting a few times last week. The two nights I checked on her, she was awake moaning. I asked her what was wrong, and she said her ankle hurts. She pointed to her ankle and was crying. ISTJ
Quiet, serious, earn success by thoroughness and dependability. Practical, matter-of-fact, realistic, and responsible. Decide logically what should be done and work toward it steadily, regardless of distractions. Take pleasure in making everything orderly and organized – their work, their home, their life. Value traditions and loyalty.

The expanded version:
ISTJ Description
by Joe Butt

“It is in keeping with tradition throughout our history that I should express simply and directly the opinions which I hold concerning some of the matters of present importance.” –Herbert Hoover, Inaugural Address, Monday, March 4, 1929.

ISTJs are often called inspectors. They have a keen sense of right and wrong, especially in their area of interest and/or responsibility. They are noted for devotion to duty. Punctuality is a watchword of the ISTJ. The secretary, clerk, or business(wo)man by whom others set their clocks is likely to be an ISTJ.

As do other Introverted Thinkers, ISTJs often give the initial impression of being aloof and perhaps somewhat cold. Effusive expression of emotional warmth is not something that ISTJs do without considerable energy loss.

ISTJs are most at home with “just the facts, Ma’am.” They seem to perform at highest efficiency when employing a step-by-step approach. Once a new procedure has proven itself (i.e., has been shown “to work,”) the ISTJ can be depended upon to carry it through, even at the expense of their own health.

ISTJs are easily frustrated by the inconsistencies of others, especially when the second parties don’t keep their commitments. But they usually keep their feelings to themselves unless they are asked. And when asked, they don’t mince words. Truth wins out over tact. The grim determination of the ISTJ vindicates itself in officiation of sports events, judiciary functions, or an other situation which requires making tough calls and sticking to them.

The original OCD questionnaire developed in 2001 had 87 items, and by now, it has been revised and shortened thrice and comprises only 20 pivotal items. buy viagra india It would be wondering to know that almost 60% of males acquisition de viagra in the world have ED and only 10% males seek for medical help. Health issues such as diabetes or life style issues like smoking or drinking 100mg viagra for sale cause or make the erectile dysfunction in man, just by enhancing the flow of the blood vessels around the penis. His SJ orientation draws the ISTJ into the service of established institutions. Home, social clubs, government, schools, the military, churches — these are the bastions of the SJ. “We’ve always done it this way” is often reason enough for many ISTJs. Threats to time-honored traditions or established organizations (e.g., a “run” on the bank) are the undoing of SJs, and are to be fought at all costs.

(ISTJ stands for Introvert, Sensing, Thinking, Judging and represents individual’s preferences in four dimensions characterising personality type, according to Jung’s and Briggs Myers’ theories of personality type.)
Functional Analysis Of An ISTJ

Based on Jung’s framework of mental functions – by Joe Butt

Introverted Sensing

Si is oriented toward the world of forms, essences, generics. Time is such a form, a quantifiable essense of exactitude, the standard to which external events are held. For both of the IS_J types, the sense of propriety comes from the clear definition of these internal forms. An apple “should” have certain qualities, against which all apples are evaluated. A “proper” chair has four legs, (and other qualities this poor INTP can only guess). Jung viewed introverted sensing as something of an oxymoron, in that the natural direction of senses is outward toward the object, rather than inward and away from it. One has the sense that Introverted Sensors are drawn more to the measure of the concept of the perceived object than to the experience of that perception.

Extraverted Thinking

The moderation of the Te function serves to socialize the expression of these forms. When the Si function is ready to relinquish the data, Te may speak. Otherwise, silence is golden. ISTJs seem to have a few favorite forms (the tried and true) which may serve for most occasions. My ISTJ dad woke me every morning with the same phrase for more years than I care to remember. Asked, “How are you?” he answered with the same stock phrase. (“As well as my age and habits will permit” was used for about two decades.) “It’s a good form, a sound form–it’s the form for me.”
Introverted Feeling

Since Fi is turned inward, it is rarely expressed. Perhaps this enables the ISTJ to resolutely accept that “we are all doomed.” When told that Lazarus had died, Thomas said, “Let us go and die with him.” (He could just as well have said something like, “I knew this was bound to happen sooner or later.”) Only in times of great distress is the Introverted Feeling expressed (as I witnessed in my dad when a neighbor’s son was killed in a hunting accident). Otherwise, feeling is inferred, or expressed nonverbally, through eye contact, or an encouraging smile.
Extraverted Intuition

The Ne function of an ISTJ does not serve her very well. It needs a lot of help. She was surprised, for example, to find that someone she had talked with only by phone had red hair, because she “didn’t usually like” people with red hair! This inferior Ne seems to be a major source of, and a natural breeding ground for, stereotypes. Failure of the banking system is but one bogeyman which arises from the fear which feeds on the ISTJ’s mistrust of real world possibilities. The shadow inhabiting the inferior Ne strikes at the precious forms and standards in the heart of the dominant Si function.

This morning, I asked Brandon who he was standing next to at baseball try-outs.  One was Matt, a former basketball teammate, and he told me the name of the other. I asked him if he knew him from school.  He said, “No, he asked me his name, and I told him mine and asked him his.  We just met!  He goes to C (the other elementary school).”  I wonder how the kids would do on this test.

Counting

I can’t remember if it was today or yesterday (it’s all a blur), but the kids were counting from 1-10 in Mandarin. I couldn’t correct them, but at least I recognized what language they were speaking. They seemed to be correcting each other okay. They stopped at 10 (presumably, because again, I don’t know), and then Peyton asked Brandon, “Brandon, do you know what 11 is?” Brandon said, “No, do you?” Peyton said, “Nope! Then they started giggling with each other. Ginger raises the body online viagra prescription temperature and sensitivity of the genital areas. We were all together on Sunday for the party, so they didn’t have a chance to learn then. They’ll have to run it by Dave, or Marcus or Mckayla, who can then correct them or check them to see if they are right!

Senior Moment

Our doorbell rang right at 345 pm, Brandon,  right on time from his playdate. I had to ask Dave if he texted the twins’ mom our address. For a second I wondered how they knew what house we were. We’d given the boys’ mom our cross-streets. Then I realized Brandon was in the car. Oops!  I had told the mom if she got him on our street, he could do the rest. At first, I thought he navigated them all the way from school, but when I asked him if he knew how to get home from school, he said he did not.
When we went out on our errand, I was giving Brandon a hug and telling him I missed him when he was gone on his outing. I was asking how it went and if the mom had to talk to him at all. He said she talked to all of them how to work the R.C. car, and then he said, “But no, she didn’t have to talk to me individually.”  All the time while I was ding this, Peyton was running alongside us saying, “Mommy! Mommy! Mommy!” as if to say, “Don’t forget about me!” She was going to stop until I held her hand, too. Dave just walked behind us laughing, not helping me out. He told me I knew the only way to fix the situation.  So, I ended up with both kids walking through the parking lot.

Connections?

All during our errands this morning, the kids were listening to Frozen. At one point, Peyton asked me, “Does Sven know Huntz?” I asked her, “Who’s ‘Huntz’?” She said, “You know, ‘Life is an open doooo-ooor–rrr.'” OH, I said, “HANS?!” In the world ( ), we are living in today there is a generic soft viagra greater need of physiotherapy than at any other time in history. No Nap Weekend!

With the red egg yesterday, Peyton didn’t sleep. Well, she slept for 10 minutes on the way home of our 30 minute drive back. She quickly awoke when I parked in the garage. She stayed up for the rest of the day, and even after we said she’d go to sleep early, we were still at the mall, so that didn’t happen either. Today, because of the tryouts and trying to keep her entertained in Brandon’s absence, she missed a nap today, too.
