Easter Weekend

Brandon had his game early this weekend, at 930 am. We still had a little cuddle time in the morning, and Peyton slept in her own bed all night long, without coming in complaining of a wet diaper, so it was well-deserved. The morning did seem to rush along, as Dave and Brandon were out the door before 9 am. Peyton and I were ready, but since we didn’t need to get there for warm-up time, we chose to walk there. It was a nice walk, but Peyton decided to stop while we were still on our street. Apparently, it was too early for her to walk. So I motivated her by distraction – we riddled the rides in the park, named animals from A-Z (she got them all, remembering “N for nightcrawler”), and then using landmarks to keep her looking forward to something. She was kept entertained in the game by sitting on the storage unit for the field. It was a tube, and it required some balancing so she didn’t fall over. It was a bit stressful for me to both watch the game and make sure she didn’t topple backward off the tube, while also balancing myself. The kids were all hitting well, so instead of only 3 innings, we got to go to four! Peyton was over the tube after the first two innings, then moved to the bench where the players were not. She had her coloring and snack there. I was able to watch better at this point. The game was a good one, and Brandon ripped one into right field, just a bit foul, for one of his at-bats. It looks like Dave’s practicing with him is paying off! He did get on base all four at-bats. He also made an out, while playing at 2nd base (not a likely position for a lefty, but they do rotate them all), as he made the play at first. The team was really well-coordinated, and are definitely improving as a team. We by-passed snack shack, and we headed home. We packed up the car, and headed to the brand new outlets on the way to my mom’s. Initially, I didn’t want to go, but I ended up getting some things for our upcoming trips, while the kids got some shoes! Each kid came home with a pair of Converse, while Brandon got another pair of running shoes. We spent quite a bit of time there before continuing our journey. The three passengers fell asleep after we left the outlets. We got to my mom’s then headed to return some Skylanders that she’d gotten the kids (duplicates). The kids (all three – including Dave) picked out ones we didn’t have, and then we came home to play. The kids got some new games and puzzles, so they were entertained with that. They got to stay up a bit later, which they enjoyed. Then my mom and I watched a movie, while Dave went to sleep earlier. Peyton was sandwiched between my mom and me, though she tossed and turned all night long. Brandon woke up at 530 am, so luckily, Dave had gone to sleep early the night before. After breakfast, we dyed Easter eggs. We let Peyton have a 30 second head-start, before releasing Brandon into the backyard. They did get about the same amount of eggs, but Brandon found the golden one. They were both excited to open the eggs up to see what was inside.  We said goodbye to my mom after lunch, then headed back home with a stop to meet up with Dave’s friend to celebrate his 40th.  We went to D&B’s, which is like a parent version of C.E.Cheese.  The kids had fun, as did we, and we had a quick bite here to eat, mixing with the food with play.  I took some video of the kids on a driving game, sitting together.  I tried to get the dash-cam view of it.  Here and Here.  I’d definitely choose getting into a car with Brandon at this point in time (if I absolutely had to), based on this. After spending our points, we headed home.  The kids were in bed by 730 pm, and we’re all ready to start April!

Impromptu Mommy and Me Day

Today, I started out with the intention of running after dropping off both kids. I dropped off Brandon, and we stayed until flag salute was over. It was a long one, as it was “Citizen of the Month” day. We didn’t get out until almost 9 am. We stopped by to pick up something for Julie, then we headed to Peyton’s school. I got to the parking lot, then started thinking that Kathy and Kira were off today. I texted her to see if she was free, then asked Peyton, “Do you want to stay with Mommy today? Can we go run some errands, go to the library, and then go back to school for the Easter egg hunt?” She was quick to say yes, then we headed over to drop off something for Julie. By then, I’d touched base with Kathy, who was free. So, we made plans to have the girls have a play date. I’d wanted to know if they wanted to have a tea party out, but Kathy said she was going to make cake pops. So, Peyton and I went home to gather some baking supplies, then headed to see Kathy and Kira at their home. We met them, but Kathy realized she didn’t have any cake mix. That was fine with the girls, as Kira brought out Chutes and Ladders to play, and asked if I wanted to play with them. I did, then the girls moved on to making their own tea party and treats with the Play-Doh. I helped Kathy with some tea party preparation, then we headed over with the treats. Kathy had whipped up quite the spread with pita chips, edamame, veggie straws, strawberries, grapes, and apples. We also had lemonade served in tiny tea cups.  After lunch, Peyton and Kira played with some puppets, then we had to leave to pick Brandon up.  We took a few more photos outside of the house, and the girls posed nicely.  I’ll get those pictures from Kathy later to post.  Fortunately, we made it to pick Brandon up, though 2 minutes late.  He looked a little scared, but was standing next to his teacher.  I did tell him that I’d pick him up, so I didn’t want him to freak out if he was told to go to CDC or if he had to wait in the office.  We got him, then came home for homework.  Peyton went up for a nap, while I worked on math, reading, and his last weather project.  We’ll go to the library and egg hunt after we’re done here.

Competition

After dinner tonight, Dave and Brandon drove to the park with their baseball gear, while Peyton and I walked. She played on the structures, but unlike Tuesday, it was super crowded! There was a girls’ soccer team practicing, and Brandon’s friend Bella’s sister’s basketball team was practicing also. On the structures, there was a little girl and her grandma playing around. The girl was probably an inch taller than Peyton, and was showing off that she could jump up and grab the single monkey bar. Peyton would walk up to the bar, and then jump up, but she wasn’t tall enough. No matter how hard she jumped, she couldn’t reach. Then, the girl showed her how to climb up the side of it, to get to the bar. Peyton finally figure it out, but she had to work so much harder to do so. The little girl even called her out and said, “She can’t do this!” The grandma was speaking to the girl in Chinese, but she did point to Peyton and said, “Four?” I told her she was four, and I told the little girl that Peyton wasn’t tall enough yet, since she needed to eat more veggies. Then, the grandma told me the girl was 5. I told Peyton when she was 5, she could jump up and reach the bar, too. She said nothing, but then she climbed up the ladder, and started going across the high monkey bar area. It’s like pre-school “Bring it On!” The grandma was impressed, but not the girl. She couldn’t do it, and her grandma helped her a bit, but by this time, Peyton was over it. We went back and forth between catching, hopscotching (which the girl was proficient at, but Peyton, not so much), and climbing on the structure. Finally, after 45 minutes at the park, we walked home, while the boys drove home. By the time we’d gotten home, Dave was already watching the sweet sixteen. Peyton came in and said, “Who’s winning? Sir-I-cuss?” Dave said, “Yes, Peyton, Syracuse is winning.” Then, he flipped the channel to hockey, and she said, “Daddy, who’s winning – Lah or Still?” Dave told her, “Lah is L.A., and Still is St. Louis.” We’re totally enjoying having sun until 7pm! Though it means the kids are going to bed later these days. We’ll see if it has any effect on their days at school. If so, they will be headed to be earlier once again.

Losing Graciously

Brandon told us that there were kids at chess club who cried when they lost. I’d asked him if he cried and he just responded,  “No.”  I told him its because he already cried at Alessandro’s 5th birthday party, when he was 4. Incidentally, the chess club organizer had sent an email to Dave the bought before the last class, the tournament,  to have the parents talk to the kids about losing and winning to avoid tears. However, I didn’t find out about said email until after the fact when I was telling Dave what had happened. Otherwise with scrabble, we hust shook hands and said, “Good game.”

Practice

Today, Peyton and I got home, ate dinner, then walked over to the park. It was a nice evening, and she had both structures to herself. Practice ended at 630 pm, and the team disbanded, but then Dave stayed with Brandon to hit some balls. Peyton and I played catch a little while, but then she claimed I hit her arm. Actually, the ball hit her arm, because she didn’t catch it. viagra ordering Over practice of alcohol may bring erection issue and that is the reason they are stressed out and really angry over it. Dave and Brandon packed up the car, then they headed home, while Peyton and I walked. We talked to our neighbor and chatted with a friend of a friend in front of her house as she’d just returned from work. Peyton even stopped to blow some dandelions. Here are some of the pics I took:

Head to Toe

I stayed late at work today, leaving after 5pm. I texted Dave that I was still at work by 505pm, and then left quickly. I chatted with the teacher who said as long as she keeps Peyton busy, she behaves. She enjoys helping take attendance, and will watch kids leave, then cross them out on the roster. As I was wrapping up, I saw someone who looked like Dave pass by me in the classroom. I was so confused, but it was only the back of him, so I called his name. He turned around and said, “Check your phone.” I was so in a rush, I didn’t check it! It’s not safe to check while driving! And then I didn’t want to fish around for it when I got to the parking lot. The last time I’d checked it, he’d told me he was getting Brandon. I wondered where Brandon was, but when I turned around, he was behind me, smiling. So, all three of us were picking up Peyton, apparently. I’m glad this was the case versus both of us forgetting about her, or any other kid of ours for that matter. Peyton was confused and excited we were all there. Brandon went to say hi to Ms Tarez, who’d remembered that he’d gotten a purple card last week. As soon as we got in the door, I walked Peyton up to the bathroom to start a bath early. Dave’s been teaching Peyton how to give her own self a bath. I turned on the water for her and sat down at the stool next to her. She stood up and got an appropriate amount of soap. She walked me through what she does, saying, “First, I start with my front. Then (lathering up her hands again), I go to my bottom. But Daddy says, ‘Once you put your hand on your bottom, you cannot put your hand on your front again.'” She rinsed off her hands, then she got more soap for each of her legs. She got every part of her leg, front and back, then sat down to do her feet. I turned off the water; since she was so thorough, she was wasting water! Then, she did each arm, and she looked like she was scrubbing in for surgery! Once she got to her head, it didn’t look like she could reach all the way, so I helped her with that. Then, I dumped the water over her, and she was all done. I think she is definitely much cleaner than Brandon!

Dates

When we last went to TJ’s, I picked up a container of dates per Brandon’s request when he saw them. He likes dates and figs, and especially likes trying them at the farmer’s markets. So, I thought that’s what he was talking about when he asked me, “What if someone has like 4 dates in a row?” I told him, “That’s a lot of sugar!” (Each one is 15 grams of carbs!!) Then he said, “No, not those dates, like love dates.” LALALA…I CAN’T HEAR YOU…is what I wanted to say.  I was standing at the refrigerator door, my back On the other cialis consultation hand sexual life also takes a negative turn. He went on like 4 dates in a row.”  Sure, they say to let kids read whatever they are interested in, but really Batman?  He’s supposed to be solving crime, not going on dates.  He didn’t talk about it anymore, and neither did I.  I need to prepare myself a little better for the next time I’m ambushed!

Walking For Dinner; Game Night

Dave went for a ride this morning, then came home to do some work on the table. After he did that, he went to work while Peyton and I napped. Brandon played on his own quietly until Peyton came downstairs to where we were. Peyton picked up my phone and decided to call Dave. He told her he was heading home, but she didn’t ask him when. Soon after, he got home, and we wanted to take another walk like last week. We headed in a slightly different direction, just on the other side of Brandon’s school. We parked the car, then headed to the trail. It was the same trail as last time, but just a different part of it. We didn’t hear any complaints along the way. In fact, the two kids started out sprinting. Dave and I were just walking behind them, then we both started running, too! After we passed them, then stopped running, so we slowed so they could catch up. We walked a little over a mile to get to the restaurant. Both kids ate a lot; in fact, I think Peyton ate more than Brandon did, since she didn’t snack before we left like he had. She stopped eating earlier than he did, and I think his appetite caught up to him. He ended up eating two bowls of soup, his salad, a bunch of veggies, and a new one, green bell peppers! Peyton and Dave headed out first, while Brandon and I waited for blueberry muffins and chocolate/peanut butter chip cookies. We soon caught up to them on the trail, and I could see Peyton was dragging. She was holding onto Dave’s hand, but his arm was extended behind him. I was telling Brandon we should sneak up on them, but that just sent him into the giggles! Dave turned around, and we were found out! She saw me, then held my hand for a bit. Then, she remembered she was tired, and started walking in front of me, to slow me down, to ask for a lift. I didn’t pick her up, but ran ahead to catch up with Dave. Finally, Brandon and I jogged ahead, leaving Dave to deal with whiny Peyton. We ended up seeing them across the freeway overpass. We waved and Brandon encouraged her to come over to us. Our car was just on the other side, so we were trying to motivate her. We got back, then both kids took their baths. Since it was still early (we got to dinner at 445pm, and it was 630 pm after bath was done), both kids asked to play games. Brandon asked Dave to play chess with him, while Peyton asked me to play Scrabble Jr. So we each took a kid. Peyton is getting better at the game, and she is even planning ahead! We play with tiles face up, and she was guiding me to play one of my tiles, which I did. As soon as I put it down, she put her own tile down next to it! She had the biggest smile on her face when she did it! We’re going to have to cover up the letters since she’s getting too good now. She even tried to ask me to let her win, and I told her there was no such thing. I helped her put some of her tiles down, but I had her put in the last tiles to earn points on her own. She figured it out quickly, and only lost by one word! We shook hands, said “Good game,” and then it was bedtime. We got another movie, and since we both had our exercise already today, we get to watch it when the kids go to sleep! (Zero dark thirty).

Tor-Toys

Peyton was playing on the video game today, while Brandon was playing nicely with Legos upstairs. She asked me, “Do you know what a tor-toy is?” I asked her to repeat it, since I was vacuuming, and I didn’t think I heard her correctly. She repeated herself, then I looked up at the screen. Too Fast

The other day, while Dave had Peyton in the car, she told him, “You drive faster than Mommy.”  Today, while Dave was getting ready to go ride his bike, Peyton had come in first.  Brandon wasn’t up yet.  She came in to snuggle, and she said, “Is Sildamax is a very affordable medicine for the ED free cialis no prescription treatment.
