Lullaby

While we were doing a puzzle in Peyton’s room listening to Christmas carols on the radio, Pachebel’s Christmas canon re-mix came on. Peyton said, “Oh, this is the song that my bear falls asleep to.” I said, “What do you mean this is what he falls asleep to? Can you show me how he falls asleep?” She said, “Sure!” She went It is greatly recognised which an ingredient identified as cGMP thinks a vital buy levitra from canada component while in the damaging the actual clock. Busy Day

Today is my first weekday off of the break. The kids got up and asked for breakfast, then I turned on the original Sound of Music, which was on last night for four hours (including commercials!) Dave’s family used to watch this version every year, so it was befitting that the kids watch this version. Dave had left for work after 6 am, so he was long gone. During this time, I was informed about some work stuff, so I was planning to go in for a little bit. There were a few things to do since the next person won’t be there until next Monday. I didn’t mind, as I knew Kathy, Melissa and Michelle were there, in addition to the residents. The problem with that though was that there was limited space. I packed some things for Peyton to color, and Brandon brought his pokemon cards. I told them how I needed them to be quiet during the time we were there. They mostly listened, though we were not able to sneak in without being noticed. The IT manager also saw them, which I was a bit afraid of. Luckily, he thought the Pokemon cards were cool, and even made an origami crane for Peyton (it was hot pink!) I was able to make two calls, and chart on some things before the kids got too bored. Each of them got tired of the things they had brought, though we were there for only an hour. We said goodbye to the aunties, then headed to the next dreaded place during this time of year – the mall. I had some points expiring at the Lego store at all places, and as anticipated, it was crowded. We found a good parking spot, an end spot outside, so I would be able to find it easily when we were done. It did mean that the kids had to walk a little bit more, but since they hadn’t been inside most of the day, it was good for them. They do not like to share this issue to at least one person in their life which can then guide him buy sildenafil india to a better love making session then. We found a set that I will use for Peyton’s birthday (Little Mermaid!) but I didn’t tell her it was for her. I even told the attendant, who’d asked Peyton if it was for her, that it was NOT for Peyton. Neither kid got anything, as I told them they were not completely quiet at work. I hadn’t told them I was getting them anything anyway, since I think they should be quiet for the sake of being quiet, and NOT because they are trying to earn something. But I did let them know they lost their opportunity after the fact because they didn’t follow directions. Hopefully it’ll be a teaching lesson for the next time they are given instructions. We came home, and I made them lunch. They told me it was like I was the server at Diner Dash (an app they play) since I was making Brandon a grilled cheese, while putting together a PB&J for Peyton. I was pouring milk, and serving them in order, trying to make sure things didn’t burn. I told them they had to take a nap after lunch, and both went up to their respective rooms. They will watch the rest of the movie later today, and when Peyton told my mom what they were doing, she referred to it as the “very, very old Sound of Music.” She is so right! I’m glad to be off the road at the moment, as the holiday crowds are no joke. It’s been almost 8 years since we went to the mall in December, this close to Christmas; the last time being when I was pregnant with Suong, and our car was towed. We had to take the bus back to the condo, then go to the impound lot to retrieve the car. I was 7 months pregnant at the time, so it was a bit of a nightmare. Nothing like the holiday spirit, especially being yelled at by another mom because I told her that there was a line that was already formed, when she went right to the cashier without waiting like everybody else, and the cashier took her anyway. Yet another reason to avoid the mall this time of year. Probably a good thing Dave wasn’t there.  It would’ve been worse.

Getting her ready!

Dave signed Peyton up for t-ball this past week. We’ve been talking it up, and she is excited! Today, after nap, he took her outside to have her practice hitting off the tee. Brandon had put himself to sleep for a nap, so Peyton got some one on one time with Daddy. Here are her videos:

GNO

Last night, a bunch of moms just went out for a late dinner. From the pictures on the website, it looked a bit more fancy, so I decided to dress up a bit. It’s a good excuse to be able to, and while I was getting ready, since both kids were already down, I was asking Dave for his opinion on clothing options. Dave started looking at the menu, and I think he wanted to come with me! I thought maybe he should go in my place, when he was looking over the wine list. Michelle came over around 9 pm, then we headed down to the restaurant. Bonnie and Kathy arrived shortly thereafter, followed by Julie and then Thuy. It was a nice restaurant, fancier than we usual go with the rest of the families. Most had already eaten dinner, but since I’d held out, I was ready to eat dinner. I was going to order something heavier, but downgraded a bit after some thought. We had some oysters on the half-shell, while Bonnie and Michelle had wine, Kathy and I split a cocktail. Fortunately, Kathy has the same taste in alcohol, so we were able to both enjoy it. We had great conversation, and it was a good time out. Pretty soon, before we knew it, we had almost closed the restaurant down. It was chosen for its late hours, but it was almost midnight before we left. We then headed out and back our separate ways. Michelle’s family is gone, so I checked in with her to make sure she got in. I did remember to give Peyton her dose of medication, and I think she was happy to see me. She didn’t take long to awaken, and immediately said, “Hi, Mommy.” She took it without problems, then went back to sleep. I went to sleep, knowing the kids would be up at their usual. Fortunately, I didn’t hear from them until 8 am!
Here’s the pic that sums up the evening:

Letters to Santa

The kids were asked to write letters to Santa. Dave had to prompt Peyton, and she wrote what he said verbatim. It was a nice sentiment compared to Brandon’s list. Dave asked Brandon to come up with at least one thing for someone else. No go.
Here’s what they wrote:
P: “Dear Santa, I lova Sata (Santa, hopefully not Satan). Please keep me safe. From Peyton.”
B: “Dear Santa, Can I have these things for Christmas 1. Pokemon cards can I have deoxy SFX, 2. R/C helicopter, 3. Minecraft legos, 4. Batman legos, 5. EX pokemon pack, 6. Pac Man PS Vita and Pokemon PS vita. From, Brandon. P.S. Happy holidays. Cut this out”

Frozen

We finally got a chance to see Frozen today.  The kids didn’t know of our plan, so we went to eat breakfast first, then headed to the mall.  The only thing at this mall is really the theater, so they had some kind of clue once we were. Dave went to buy tickets, and we walked around a bit before heading to the third floor.  We stopped by the potty before we went inside the theater.  In the potty, Peyton asked, “But what are we watching?”  She was still confused.   There was a mix-up with one big group of kids, and the manager came in to ask, “Who is here to watch Frozen?”  Peyton wasn’t sure if she should hold her hand up since she didn’t know what she was watching.  Brandon had seen the movie with CDC, but he said he was happier watching it from where we were versus from the front rows when he saw If required, surgeons use slings, plaster casts, braces or cialis prices splints. Winter Gram

Brandon’s school sells grams for different holidays. The students buy it for each other and the student counsel delivers them. We had them in high school, and they came with candy or flowers. Brandon told me that he was getting one. I asked from whom he was getting it. He told me “Lydia”, one of the girls at his pod. Early 5th birthday Appointment

Since our co-pays are going up next year, I decided to save a little and take Peyton in for her 5th birthday check-up today instead of in two weeks. I’m off today, and the next few weeks will be busy for us, so it just made sense. We dropped Brandon off at school this morning, and we stayed for flag salute. We then dropped Peyton off at school (no tears despite the disruption). I went to Target and Costco – Target wasn’t so bad, but Costco’s parking lot was full at 10 am, and it opened at 10! The inside wasn’t too bad, and check-out was quick. After doing more errands at home, I went back to Peyton’s school for her holiday party. I ‘d gotten veggies and brought them so the teachers could distribute them. The gift exchange was first. All the presents were numbered against the wall, and each kid was called up one by one to pick a number. They got to select based on the number. The teacher was saying how the kids were all eyeing the big presents, but she prefaced the opening time with, “You get what you get, and don’t throw a fit!” Peyton had told me earlier, “But I don’t want to get a boy’s gift!” The presents were all supposed to be gender-neutral, but you never know. So each of the kids selected a number and kept their package in their laps. Definitely a test in patience. Finally, after each kid had a present, the teacher asked them to read who it was from and thank that person. I loved the skills being taught, unbeknownst to the kids – 1) public speaking, 2) manners, and 3) reading. The parents were all on hand to watch, so there was a big audience. Peyton nicely thanked Anica, and even said, “You’re welcome” to Julie when she was thanked. Then, in one fell swoop, the kids all opened their gifts. It was a gift-wrap frenzy! Peyton was excited to get THREE gifts in one package – a set of color pencils, sketch pad, and writing pad with lines. After that, the kids made their way to the tables for snack. I was happy to see Peyton ate her carrots and cucumbers that I’d brought. She also ate one cookie, passed on juice, and I put her cake pop away for later. I was counting down for her to go to the doctor, since I’d already pushed it back later to accommodate the party. Turns out she was finished sooner, and tossed her plate earlier than I’d anticipated. We grabbed her stuff, said goodbye to the teachers, and then headed out. We picked up some gifts in my office, then headed down to check in. We were called back pretty quickly. Peyton was asked to take another hearing test. I couldn’t remember if she had done it, or if Brandon had done it most recently. But, it didn’t take long, so we decided to do it just in case. She did well and passed! We went into the room, and she asked for spelling words to practice. We got through a few of them, then the doctor came in. She was right on time, which is unusual! Peyton was finishing up a word, while Dr C waited. She told her after she was done with the word that she was working on “Exit”, then she can put it away. She commented how well Peyton was writing, and how she writes better than most second graders! I told Dr C that she wrote better than MY second grader 😉 Peyton obediently put the book down, and then the doctor proceeded to check her out. She even put the stethoscope on her so she could listen to her own heartbeat, while we talked. Peyton checked out a-okay! She is 42# 3 ounces (68.15%) , 3 feet, 7.75 inches tall (77%), and her BMI is dropping off a bit, which is normal around this age, which according to the calculator, is 61.5%. Dr C gave us all the documents needed to bring for our registration to school coming up next year. We’re all ready to go! We met up with Brandon and Dave for dinner, then both kids wanted to go with Daddy home! Yay for a quiet drive home for me.
