Busy Day

Today is my first weekday off of the break. The kids got up and asked for breakfast, then I turned on the original Sound of Music, which was on last night for four hours (including commercials!) Dave’s family used to watch this version every year, so it was befitting that the kids watch this version. Dave had left for work after 6 am, so he was long gone. During this time, I was informed about some work stuff, so I was planning to go in for a little bit. There were a few things to do since the next person won’t be there until next Monday. I didn’t mind, as I knew Kathy, Melissa and Michelle were there, in addition to the residents. The problem with that though was that there was limited space. I packed some things for Peyton to color, and Brandon brought his pokemon cards. I told them how I needed them to be quiet during the time we were there. They mostly listened, though we were not able to sneak in without being noticed. The IT manager also saw them, which I was a bit afraid of. Luckily, he thought the Pokemon cards were cool, and even made an origami crane for Peyton (it was hot pink!) I was able to make two calls, and chart on some things before the kids got too bored. Each of them got tired of the things they had brought, though we were there for only an hour. We said goodbye to the aunties, then headed to the next dreaded place during this time of year – the mall. I had some points expiring at the Lego store at all places, and as anticipated, it was crowded. We found a good parking spot, an end spot outside, so I would be able to find it easily when we were done. It did mean that the kids had to walk a little bit more, but since they hadn’t been inside most of the day, it was good for them. They do not like to share this issue to at least one person in their life which can then guide him buy sildenafil india to a better love making session then. We found a set that I will use for Peyton’s birthday (Little Mermaid!) but I didn’t tell her it was for her. I even told the attendant, who’d asked Peyton if it was for her, that it was NOT for Peyton. Neither kid got anything, as I told them they were not completely quiet at work. I hadn’t told them I was getting them anything anyway, since I think they should be quiet for the sake of being quiet, and NOT because they are trying to earn something. But I did let them know they lost their opportunity after the fact because they didn’t follow directions. Hopefully it’ll be a teaching lesson for the next time they are given instructions. We came home, and I made them lunch. They told me it was like I was the server at Diner Dash (an app they play) since I was making Brandon a grilled cheese, while putting together a PB&J for Peyton. I was pouring milk, and serving them in order, trying to make sure things didn’t burn. I told them they had to take a nap after lunch, and both went up to their respective rooms. They will watch the rest of the movie later today, and when Peyton told my mom what they were doing, she referred to it as the “very, very old Sound of Music.” She is so right! I’m glad to be off the road at the moment, as the holiday crowds are no joke. It’s been almost 8 years since we went to the mall in December, this close to Christmas; the last time being when I was pregnant with Suong, and our car was towed. We had to take the bus back to the condo, then go to the impound lot to retrieve the car. I was 7 months pregnant at the time, so it was a bit of a nightmare. Nothing like the holiday spirit, especially being yelled at by another mom because I told her that there was a line that was already formed, when she went right to the cashier without waiting like everybody else, and the cashier took her anyway. Yet another reason to avoid the mall this time of year. Probably a good thing Dave wasn’t there.  It would’ve been worse.
