So, we chose carpool buddies and headed up to SF. Some girls in the troop were meeting for dinner, but because we had a softball birthday party earlier in the day, I wanted Peyton well-rested. She’d gotten a black eye at the jump house, which was better than what I envisioned – a broken arm. I’d warned her about tucking in her arms when falling, but I didn’t account for her brother’s shoulder in her face. We put ice on it and called it a day for her jumping around. The girls and brothers played on the structure instead at the park. She came home, showered up, and then took a nap. The program was to last from 830 pm to 1130 pm! So I took a nap, too. That was just fine with me! We had to sleep head to head or toe to toe to avoid kicks to the head. Peyton was settled in with her friends, so I took a head to head position with another mom. I had a hard time falling asleep, and then staying asleep. The girls were chatting a bit, then suddenly, it got quiet.
I woke up at 620 am to girls whispering. I wasn’t sure who it was, but I wasn’t too surprised when I saw Peyton’s sleeping bag was zipped tightly. I waited until we were woken up at 7 am by the docents there to “kick” us out. Peyton got her stuff packed, while I got mine all wrapped up. We headed upstairs to brush teeth, change clothes and then eat breakfast. Boudin had delivered quite a spread, so we got fed! The final activity was to go around the kids’ table to tell the group 1) what they liked, and 2) what they learned. Dave swapped kids and took Peyton to practice softball. Brandon had just come from there, so we did piano instead. After he brought Peyton back, she showered up and then headed for a nap.
