Better Day!

Today, I left super early, before anyone else in the house had awaken.  It was about 6:40 am.  All were asleep, or so I thought. On instinct, I looked up at Brandon’s window, and I saw his little face out of the corner of the window.  He was waving bye to me.  I was afraid the garage door woke him up.  Later he told me it was just time for him to wake up. Who knows?  I did a full day of work, then I went back to pick up the kids.  But before getting them, there’s a bridal shower at work tomorrow.  I was picking up things along the way, during lunch, and before picking up the kids, I ran into the store to find some more items.  I signed both kids out, but they were all playing outside.  I went outside to find Brandon at goalie, playing soccer with his friends.  Right behind him was Peyton, lighting punching him in the back.  She was ON the soccer field!  He pretended like she wasn’t even there!  She saw me first, and said, “MOMMY!  I didn’t even cry today!”   I congratulated her, but also asked her why she was hanging around Brandon and not her own friends.  She said, “Because I love him!”  I made her goal now to go play with her other friends, like one of Brandon’s teammate’s sister, who is in the first grade.  Peyton said she didn’t want to play with her because she was just sitting around.  She wanted to play soccer, too. Dave made the salmon he caught.  He cooked it, so there was less chance of contamination. After dinner, the kids got ready for bed.  They were in bed by 715 pm.   I headed out to a meeting at our local grocery store.  I still needed more groceries, so it was perfect. I think I’ve been to 3 stores now in search of items!  But I got everything there, and then by 930 pm, I headed home.  This week just won’t stop!  Tomorrow is baseball practice for Coach Dave and Brandon, while Peyton and I will go to my class at 6 pm.  Thursday we have piano, a playdate, and another training at school.  I know I do it to myself…but it keeps everyone on their toes!  Both kids are doing a good job of bringing their belongings home; even Brandon left his water bottle, but he knew exactly where he’d left it (on his desk, in the left hand corner).  Peyton’s been bringing her long-sleeves home, and her teacher communication.  It doesn’t feel like it’s only been 2 days this week!
