Yesterday, we had my parents, aunt and uncle over for dinner for Peyton and my dad’s birthday. It was my dad’s actual birthday, and Peyton was hijacking it. They arrived by mid afternoon, after both kids had napped. Everyone snacked on pita chips and dip and the chili that Dave made using our new crock pot and mini crock pot. The kids were excited to have everyone over the house. They wanted to show my mom what else they had received from friends, since my mom hadn’t had a chance to see it yet. Everyone else watched football until it was dinner time. Everyone enjoyed the ribs, salmon (that he’d caught at the end of the summer), baked potatoes, carrots and broccoli that Dave served. He even set up the MJ set to play. He got started, and then I took over when he wanted to go take a shower to get the rib smell off. (He was also losing, so it wasn’t hard to convince him). I did end up turning it around for him, and at that point, I didn’t leave the table. He got the cake ready when we were almost done.
