This morning, we got to have a “lazy” morning after a late night. Peyton woke up at 7 am, and she came in. We weren’t sure if Brandon was up, but there was no light on. She cuddled for a bit, then she was going to go back to her room and read. We didn’t want her to wake him up, but weren’t sure if he was awake. Sometimes he closes his door and reads quietly, but Peyton went down the hall and checked. She came back and said, “Brandon’s still sleeping!” We told her to shut our door so she could watch tv and let him sleep. As she shut our door, she didn’t turn the handle, and it make a “CLICK” sound. That for sure would wake him as it doesn’t take much, especially early in the morning. Sure enough, a minute later, he came in staggering, and plopped himself up on the bed. Both of them were cuddled up with me, and I couldn’t pawn either of them off on Dave. Dave ended up getting up to make a coffee run, while they just watched tv and I slowly got ready. They watched all of Nemo before we prodded them to get ready. Peyton, ever the fidgety one while watching movies, came down and read to me. Brandon watched the rest of the movie in peace. Both were eating breakfast by the time Dave came home. We left shortly after that. The kids were not hesitant at all to jump into the mix. They listened to the instructions of the gym hosts and were off. I remember having to push Peyton to do stuff before, even at her own birthday! She was totally fine and engaged in the activities. There were among the bigger of the kids there, so we did worry about them hurting other kids by running into them. I saw the two of them on the trampoline together, and the host was trying to get them to do a seat drop. Peyton came close, but Brandon was too giggly, as usual.
They moved to the long trampolines:
They had fun under the big parachute.
And then launching themselves into the foam pit, but first racing to get there:
Funny to see them both balk at the top of the ramp.
His smile though…

Then the rings at the free time structure area:
After this area, they were asked to line up for lunch. The kids were in tune with the instructors and lined up as directed to get their shoes on. They washed up, though Brandon, not in that order, so he went to wash his hands again. Peyton sat down at the second seat in, and left one seat open on her right, which of course, Brandon took. They fight with each other, but they still manage to sit next to each other all the time!
Here are the pictures that were taken over the course of the party. Dave snuck in to get a picture of the parachute bubble, while I took a picture of him 🙂
We had a yummy lunch, and I was ordered a hummus sandwich to be line with my challenge. I paired it with veggies, and Dave had the other half of the sandwich. He said he’d eat less meat, and indeed he did! Well, almost. He had another half, which was turkey, but at least he half-way tried. Brandon declared beforehand he’d eat 5 slices of pizza, and I’m happy to report, he was only 80% correct. Peyton barely got through one slice, but did eat some veggies. We sang to the birthday girl, and this time, I watched the kids to see if both would sing. Brandon was looking around, but I did see him mouthing some words, while Peyton did sing. I’m more aware as Michelle told me Marcus paid attention to who sang to him and who did not. After cake, the party was winding down, so we were treated to popcorn selections. Brandon got his, but Peyton was too engrossed with the balloons, but later went back to get her popcorn. We left after saying goodbye and thank you. We came home and Peyton and I took naps, while Brandon just laid down. Later, the boys went to go to practice, while Peyton and I read some more to get her to 950 books. We went back to the library for her “50” sticker, and to reload on books. We also had two books reserved that we picked up. Peyton and I headed to the grocery story before coming back. Brandon was working on his project, and Peyton started to read some more. After Brandon was done, he knew he had piano to practice, then he could watch some tv. That took form of a previously-recorded jeopardy episode. I had a “Brandon talk” tonight, though brief, since I wanted him to sleep. They ended up going to sleep around 730 pm while I headed to the gym. Time for another week starting tomorrow! March has flown by!
