Ok, for us anyways. Last night, we went out to dinner with Chih-Hsun, who is in town for an interview, his cousin and roommate, and Kenny. Rachel was at a work event. It was a late one, so we had already fed Brandon and brushed his teeth. He was out before we even started eating. After dinner, everyone was going to go back to Kenny’s to hang out. Not wanting to be left out, and also to play Guitar Hero, we stopped by home and grabbed the PS2 and gear. Andy and Laura were coming into SJC later that evening. When we got to Kenny’s, we had to find a place to set up Brandon’s “bed”. We placed him in the corner of the kitchen area, with a few blankets and pillows. We didn’t want to put him in the loft, since we wouldn’t be able to see him or hear him as well, and it was one flight up. So it was a little loud, but at least we knew he was safe. He did fine for the most part, but did wake up a bit after Rachel, Andy, and Laura were back. I just picked him up, carried him around for a bit, then put him back down. We didn’t leave until 130am! That’s a late night for us.
This morning, Brandon woke up as usual – 615am, which served us well, because we were going to the Memory Walk on Treasure Island to support the Alzheimer’s Association. It was a short walk – 3 miles – but scenic as we walked around the island. Other parts were not as nice – seeing boarded up barracks, and buildings formerly used by the Navy. As we were leaving, Brandon waved by to all the people. Then, he saw the sailboats. He said, “boats!” Then, “Bye-bye boats!” and waved at them, too. It was cute.

We were meeting up with my high school friends at Henry’s house. What a beautiful place in Burlingame! Some of these guys I hadn’t seen since the last weddings at least 2 years ago. And what a difference two years makes! It was a baby fest! Brandon was the oldest, then Eiten, Amanda’s son (her husband wasn’t there so Hsinkai was filling in), who was turning one next week, Samantha, Willie and Joanne’s baby, who was almost a year, Ava, Wilson and Kris’ 11-month old daughter, and then the youngest, Ryker, Darryl and Shannon’s son, who was just 5 months old. It was amazing how close in age all the kids were. Jason and Kelly were getting pressure, so maybe next year. Anthony and Neena were there too. Dave got Brandon to sleep, and he did so for a couple of hours! He needed it, since he didn’t really get to sleep much in the morning. Ryker went to sleep too, but he woke up sooner than Brandon. I told Darryl that we had won! It was good to see everyone, but we had to get home to watch the UCLA game. It was our agreement. When we got Brandon into the car, he woke up and said, “Toy?” Shoot! We had forgotten his toy at Henry’s! Thanks for reminding us this time. Now we’re watching the game – and Brandon’s hitting his tool bench, saying, “Making noise!” At least he knows that he is doing it. Later tonight, we’ll probably get together with the Missouri crew to watch the rest of their game. But priorities are priorities. We have to watch the UCLA/ND game first.
