Field trip; Pixied!

Today I went to work like normal then headed out to school by 8.  I ran into my surgeon on the way out, and I thanked him for the call before thanksgiving.  I’d not returned it since things were doing okay but it was weird seeing him out and about. Luckily there weren’t too many people in the hallway. Though not too much information.  I got to school and headed to the office for my sticker before going to the class.  I saw other mom and dad friends for the same reason as all the first grade classes were going to the play. Elves and the shoemaker.  The teacher asked to ride with me, so I knew we’d be getting at least one of the kids that Peyton was warning me about.  The kid doesn’t listen well and kind of wanders.  And doesn’t stop talking.  Ever.  It wasn’t too bad but the traffic on surface streets was a bit bad.  We all arrived and found the school.  We saw our Girl Scout troop leader, and we waved as their group passed us by.  We saw three of the girls in the troop.  I had N who is new to the troop but the leader said hi to both girls. Peyton and I got separated from our group based on seat and row assignments.  There just wasn’t room for us, so we were shown another row all the way down. It was nice to just have her for a short time anyway.  I asked her to lean her head against me if she got tired.  She told me that she needed to pay attention since they were going to write about the characters after they were done.  Great! So responsible.  After the hour long play, we headed back to school.  I headed back to work and a pizza party. Then I left as usual to pick them up.  We had a line up of events. Piano for Peyton while Brandon read quietly.  He told me he likes reading now.  He’s going through the Roald Dahl book set I got him awhile ago. Then he had clarinet assessments.  He did great, earning all 5’s. He had to play two songs for the teacher.  Then we headed to swim.  He kids hung in there in the cold. They showered up and then I was getting dinner for them when the doorbell rang!! Brandon looked at the window first then I opened the door to hear girls shrieking. Brandon said it was a girl named Ava. But I don’t know.

After the excitement, Dave came home and he took them to pixie our family.  He got flashed by the police for having his lights off while his engine was running.  Then we Pixied the “host” family and the kids were being cases by the nine year old!! We made gifts for their friends – more ornament letters.  I think they turned out well.
