Christmas eve/Christmas

Yesterday, Dave dropped the kids off at my mom’s to then go to work himself. I was at work by six with plans for a short lunch and to be done by two.  My mom and Dave were texting me throughout the morning. The kids were put down for a nap while I was at work and were just waking up when I arrived.  Dave had already headed up to my grandma’s while my dad was headed back to consolidate cars.  We met up all together by 4.  Dave was already involved in the first round of MJ with my family.  We had a nice dinner and celebrated a belated birthday for my uncle.  Actually there are three birthdays in December in the family there.  We got the kids teeth brushed after dinner, and they waited until 11:30 to sort presents.  We didn’t quite wait until midnight but we got it closer than previous years.   The kids hung in there!! We drove home, and Dave got us safely home as we were all out.  Peyton had asked me to stay in our bed, but she forgot on her way up.  I found her snuggled in her own bed.  We cleaned up a bit and waited for santa’s arrival until 130 am.  We didn’t make it, but he did arrive sometime after 2 am! At 4 am, Peyton came in our room whining about her tummy hurting.    Then started retching.  Then we told her to go to the toilet.  She puked a bit then Dave told her to sleep on the floor closer to the bathroom. She slept until Brandon came in to wake us up. The kids went downstairs to find a letter from Santa.  We opened presents as Peyton was feeling better.  Then she declined again and only wanted pedialyte for breakfast.  She did get in some pictures with us via our selfie stick.

Here was the convo about what to pack to my parents house:

Brandon: mommy, can I bring my legos with me?

Me: sure

Peyton: can I bring my pedialyte with me?

Me: sure.
This was what was heard last night:

Aunt Jean: how tall is your tree?

P: I don’t know. But our tree has a hole in it.

(I had to do a comb over to cover up the bald part of the trunk)

Me: Peyton Sydney ran an 8k.

P: so. She probably threw up after.

Me: no not everyone throws up after races. Just you.

P: that’s why im not running any more races.

She slept the entire ride up.  Then was a bit lethargic when we arrived. Brandon helped my mom set the table and prep sweet potatoes.   He peeled them. After hanging out with my dad, she perked up a bit to eat some crackers.  I think she’ll survive her Xmas hangover.  The kids ate the same things.  Dave just thinks she can’t hang without getting sleep.

Merry Christmas!!
