The long week ended with Dave’s birthday. We’ve been going all week long non stop.
Monday, Brandon had basketball practice til late, then Tuesday I had a conference call for the PTA. But I worked late as I’d gone to school midday for an art project.
Brandon dropped his clarinet during practice and busted a key. I had to take it to the repair shop and use a rental clarinet that school had. Wednesday we didn’t have basketball, but Brandon had to do lots of math, and I had to order our Christmas cards. Thursday, Brandon stayed at school while I took Peyton to piano. He had rehearsal early so he stayed for that. I came back and then Peyton went home with Dave. Both kids showered up before the band concert, and I took Brandon back by 6. They came back just as the show started. Then, after the concert, I headed to a work holiday party. I ended up talking to my mentor doctor until the party ended.
This morning, I headed back to work again after dropping the kids off at school. I worked for three hours then Peyton and I came back to practice piano. We went back to get Brandon, and he did the same. While Peyton practiced piano, it was super quiet downstairs. I crept down the stairs to find Brandon curled up on the couch taking a nap!
Peyton was getting very cranky so I told her to go take a nap so we could take dave out for dinner. She said she wasn’t tired so I told her I needed a nap. Brandon worked on a surprise for Dave. Peyton was still asleep (remember, she wasn’t tired) when Dave got back home. I woke her up since I wanted to make sure she would sleep later tonight.
We headed out for warm ramen and headed to get Dave’s free scoop of ice cream. The kids went down after 8! 
Brandon’s snowman he didn’t like it, but I think it turned out great! I love that he put a Santa hat on it to give it that pop of color.
