So hungry!

Tonight, we celebrated an early Christmas at the Kao’s.  Peyton brought her game face to the party.  She didn’t crack a smile for quite some time.  It didnt’ help that we had woken her up from her nap in the car.  It was a short trip, and she hadn’t had a nap all afternoon because she was too busy with Brandon.
All the kids got presents – Logan, Mckayla, Brandon, Peyton, AND Theresa.  Peyton borrowed Mckayla’s high chair, and Brandon sat in his own seat like a big boy.  Peyton was a food machine – she methodically ate her turkey and green beans.  Afterward, she must have eaten at least 20 grapes!  She will STILL hungry.  As of this weekend, she has learned how to wipe her own mouth.  I thought it was a fluke, that she was trying to eat her napkin at lunch yesterday, but she just dabbed her mouth, and continued on.  After she was done, then she started ripping it in shreds, like I had expected.  Today, she did the same thing – she dabbed, then continued to eat.  After she was all done and there was no food left, she then started eating her napkin.  I guess the key to is keep a steady stream of food headed her way.  We still need to work on “more” – as sometimes she tends to scream when her tray is empty.  When she isn’t super hungry, she will use her big girl words.  Otherwise, it’s a shriek.  After she was all full, we took her out of the high chair and only then did she give us a smile.  We had probably been there for at least 2 hours by then.  She was happy that Daddy had freed her.  I really think she probably could have eaten more if given the chance.  I told Dave to be gentle with her, as she had eaten lots.  I didn’t want it to suddenly come back up.
I was able to finish up my calendar pages for the exchange.  I was a day late, but all things considered, I’m ahead of schedule.  Hopefully Audrey can still incorporate the pages.  I can’t wait to see the finished product.  This is my fourth year now with the girls, and I made it just in time.
