Sunday

It was a lazy morning with just getting up and going to practice with Peyton. I made parfaits for everyone in the car and then a coffee run was made just before going to the field. I’d asked the coach if there was practice since the other coach was out at a bachelor party weekend. Nine out of 11 girls showed up. We knew one of the girls would be dropped off and her aunt was going to pick her up. But midway through her mom asked us to drop her off to a Girl Scout meeting. Luckily, the meeting was 2 minutes from our house. Practice ended up going until after noon, over three hours. They went over plays and had different drills today including tennis balls being hit at them. They were super bouncy and going all over the place but they worked on their agility and hand-eye coordination. Peyton and her friend were in two different groups but they both loved the drill!

There was music blaring in the school PA system through coach’s phone. This was a new thing for the girls so fun for them!

After 1215, we took Peyton’s friend for lunch for us all. She had her meeting at 1230, Brandon had to be back close to Peyton’s practice by 115 and Peyton had piano at 130. We got lunch, dropped the boys off to get their car, and I took Peyton with me to drop off her friend at the meeting. Fortunately, we know her Girl Scout leader through softball, so it was a warm handoff.

We went home, Peyton finished up lunch, showered, practiced and then went to piano for her performance party.

I went home to do laundry, then went back to get her friend from the meeting. Her mom was coming from Oakland, and they weren’t going to make it back before the meeting ended. We came back home, and we met up with her mom who came just in time for me to go back and pick up Peyton by 230. Phew. We got home and I finally ate lunch since I hadn’t had a moment to eat a salad without making a mess. She worked on her cereal commercial while the boys were out at baseball practice. When they came home, Dave cut Brandon’s hair while Peyton worked on her math online. I headed out with the girls for dinner. Michelle came to get me, and we stood in line waiting to enter the restaurant. We had reservations so we sat quickly in our spot for 8. 7 of us ended up showing up for a good time with good friends!

By before doing that, as Dave was brushing Peyton’s teeth, he asked her about her softball plays today. She proceeded to diagram her plays to recall what she’d learned. She was playing short stop mostly but she needs to know where to play if she’s at second as well.
