Picnic, “beep-beep”

Today we had my work picnic.  There was a great turnout, with tons of kids, especially those born in the last year!  We got there a little after 11am, and it was just my boss and another couple.  I had told Brandon to behave since my boss was going to be there.  He only asked later, “Who is your boss, Mommy?”  I didn’t want to point him out specifically so he wouldn’t make a scene.  He didn’t.  Brandon had fun riding his bike with Ian.  We got him knee, wrist and elbow guards in addition to his helmet.  Really, we should just wrap him in bubble wrap.  There were no spills!  Both kids ate – Peyton ate a lot of chicken, from Thuy’s chicken salad.  I had Peyton eating next to me on the bench with one of my legs draped over hers to keep her from tumbling off.  I was helping Brandon with his burger, when I heard, “Bug.  Mommy, bug.”  I turned around and there was something crawling around in Peyton’s salad.  Good thing she didn’t eat it, although Jennifer brought up the fact A person cialis cheap uk should neevr take a lot of stress during work and late night work affects your sexual ability. One of Thuy’s boys was pawing at Peyton, and she looked at him in disgust.  She didn’t say, “Baby,” like she usually does when seeing little kids.  She was NOT amused.  She was looking at him, and my dialogue on her behalf was, “Kid, you are more than half my age!”  She was not in cougar mode.  At one point, I told Brandon we had to leave, and Scott said, “He can’t leave, we’re playing!”  I’m so glad to hear that they were all playing so nicely together.
Good thing we decided to drive instead of walking back, as that would have cut into the kids’ nap time, and I’m not sure Brandon would have made it on his bike that far.  He’d already had 30 minutes of running around at soccer and I don’t know how many laps he’d taken around the park with Ian.
When Peyton wants to move around someone, she says, “Beep-beep!  Beep-beep!”  Not sure how she learned this, but for now, it will do.  Eventually, it will be considered rude.  For now, it’s cute 🙂
