Birthday Party #3

The finale of Brandon’s birthday was today’s party.  We tried to get him to sleep early but nothing worked.  Peyton had no problem going down to sleep as requested, but Brandon just kept tossing and turning.  I told him if he gave me any attitude at the party because he was tired, he would cut his cake and then have none.  He came downstairs and told Dave, “Mommy said if I don’t behave, I will cut the cake and then not have any.”  Dave had no clue where this was coming from, so he just nodded and agreed with that plan.
We had a great time jumping and sliding, then having fun in the open field area.  It was fun to see Brandon with Decki and Vello, his long-time friends from his old school, and introducing him to his new friends, Joshua, Alessandro, and Kyle.  Vanessa has been with him the entire way, and Arya joined in the fun today.  The babies all had fun; Marcus already knows Connor and got to meet Connor’s friend, Elie.  The twins had fun running around; each had a turn going down with Dad on the big slide.  They each only did it once and refused when asked to do it again.  Naomi gave us a huge smile when it was time for a group picture.  Mckayla and Jesselyn had fun jumping around.  Jesselyn was giving out hugs left and right.  Gavin got there a little late, just after his nap.  It took him only a few minutes to warm up and want to kick the balls around.  Cameron had fun, although I almost knocked him over with a soccer ball that was 10 times bigger than he was.  It was a ricocheted shot off of Dave, but it almost took out two kids (Cameron and Vello) in its wake.  Cameron hung in there, but it was a close one.   Andrew had fun with Peyton playing soccer but I think his parents had even more fun.  Dave has a picture of Ernie and Jasmine jumping around in the jumpy house, both with big smiles on their faces.  Logan was having fun with the noodles in the open field area.  He was jousting with his Dad and stopped to give me a high five as he was headed out the door.  We had requested the larger room, but it was occupied with a larger party, so we were a little cramped.  The kids all got to sit down to eat pizza and later cake.  My dad was there, but was happier to watch the soccer action going on the fields next to us.  He kept us updated to the score and was watching this team of no more than 10- year olds rip up the field.
Peyton had a great time kicking the balls on the open field.  She wasn’t that thrilled about the mazes or the slides, not like last week.  Here are some pics of her:

And the cake…we “decorated” it with brick pieces and men.  Brandon had trouble blowing out the candles but was glad to enlist his friends to help him out.  The party place gave him a trick candle!  As if he wasn’t having a hard enough time blowing it out, the thing re-ignited!  Poor kid.

Brandon chose his favorite shirt to wear (again).  Makes it the second time this week 🙂
