This morning, we were shopping for some birthday gifts for some upcoming parties of Brandon’s classmates. On our way out, we found the Cat in the Hat reading hour. I had seen an advertisement that every Target was going to have a story hour from 9am to 11am. I had wanted to go, but didn’t want to go just for that reason. I had since forgotten, and as we were finishing our errands, we saw some kids in front of a huge display, being read to by a lady with a red and white striped top hat. Brandon went to go sit down, while Peyton stayed in the stroller. They both got goodie bags in reusable shopping totes! We stayed for the rest of the story. Both kids sat nicely, and kept quiet. I wasn’t necessarily sure that would happen. I think Brandon wasn’t totally paying attention to the story, but rather was looking into his bag to see what he got. Either way, he was quiet. We left to go find the farmers’ market, but apparently, they aren’t there in the winter. Oh well. We got to watch an exciting college basketball game this afternoon. It was
Lately, when Peyton sees us after not seeing us all day, like after school, she’ll say, “I moose you, Daddy.” The other day, she went around to each of us: “I moose you, Mommy,” and “I moose you, Bruddah.” We all respond back, “We moose you, too, Peyton.” None of us, even Brandon, have it in us to correct her. Brandon chuckles, but will respond in the same way.
Tonight, I was watching TV and Peyton saw a shark. She pointed to the TV, and said, “Oh, goldfish!” Then I told her it was a shark. She said, “Oooh, skeh-wee (scary).”
