It always amazes me how much Brandon can eat! This morning, he had a bowl of oatmeal, with a handful of cranberries and a handful of almonds. Immediately after, he wanted more. He asked for a yogurt and banana. So I obliged – he ate a half a banana and the entire container of 4oz baby yogurt. He wanted some of my oatmeal when I started eating mine after I thought I had fed him enough so that he would not ask me for mine. That was all by 830am.
At 10am or so, he wanted some seaweed. We’ve been eating sheets plain since Dave made sushi over the weekend. He had one full sheet for a snack.
At 1130am, his normal lunchtime, he started getting cranky. So I wanted to feed him lunch. I made him some whole wheat pasta, little alphabet letters; according to the serving size, it says 2 tsbp of dry pasta is one serving. Not sure how old of a child that serving size is for, so I scooped out 5 tsbps, figuring I could eat some of the leftovers. After I boiled it up, I cut up a piece of string cheese to make an easy version of mac&cheese. Realizing I could throw some broccoli in there and he’d eat it, I chopped up 5-6 big florets and mixed it all up. I used about half of the cooked pasta to start. He ate up the whole bowl, then asked for more pasta. So I emptied the rest of pasta into his kiddie bowl and sprinkled parmasean cheese instead of using another cheese stick. He cleaned up that, too. So I wasn’t eating pasta for lunch. He went to sleep for a couple hours, and when he woke up we went to the grocery store. Right before we left, Brandon was asking to get more strawberries and blackberries. He had previously said he didn’t want blueberries when offered after lunch. So I put them out again in a bowl to see if he’d try them again, so we could go shopping and be ok. I finished getting ready, came back to an empty bowl. I really had thought he had stashed them somewhere because he didn’t want to eat them. I even asked them what happened to the blueberries. Brandon said, “I ate them all.”

430pm: afternoon snack (and my late lunch) – we split a naan and dipped it in hummus, while I was cooking up some sweet potato fries that I had bought at the store. We split those too, and he ate them all up! It’s 530pm right now, and we’re just waiting for Dave to come home so we can have dinner!
