Shtuff my kids say

Yesterday, I saw two of Peyton’s classmates leaving together with one mom.  I thought they were somehow related, so I asked Peyton, “Are Meena and Devin cousins?”  She stared at me blankly, then said, “Kira has a Kaia.”  Kira’s Auntie Jenny just had a daughter named Kaia.  It’s funny that Peyton didn’t answer my initial question, but did recognize that Kira has a new baby cousin.  Weird how the 2 year old mind works.  I had to tell Kathy this morning when I went to work.  We got a laugh out of it.
Today, Brandon was reading me his opposites pop-up book before bedtime.  The picture was a thin piece of bread in a sandwich, with the label “Thin”.  You pull the tab to elongate the sandwich and reveal “Thick”.  Brandon looks at me, points and says, “Like you are thick.  Not fat.  But thick.”  Meanwhile, he starts nodding as if to say, “Right?”  I did not respond. Sure, the truth hurts.  But from my little boy?  Really?  Et tu, Brandon?  Dave chuckled when I told him about what happened.
While I was reading with Brandon, Dave was reading to Peyton. He came into Brandon’s room and told his own funny thing that Peyton said.  She has a teddy bear that my dad had given her.  It has a JP Morgan shirt on; he got it at a conference he went to in Vegas last week.  Apparently, she misheard what the shirt said and called him “Michael Jordan.”  Dave came in and said, “She called him, ‘Michael Jordan’.  How does she know who Michael Jordan is?”  I have no idea, but I know she is a basketball fan.
Since the songs are fresh in his mind, I wanted to get Brandon singing the songs from his parents’ appreciation: here’s the video.  He’s got some petroleum jelly on his cheeks, thus the sheen.
