Consequences; Paparazzi

Yesterday, Brandon said “No” to me one too many times in the morning. I’d had it.  So when he asked me for breakfast, I returned with “No.”  I told him he should follow my directions, and maybe we’d get to school before 8am when his breakfast ended.  I told him to go brush his teeth (which normally happens after breakfast).  He said, “No.”  I told him I’d wait for him to brush his teeth, and if it took to long, then “Oh well,” he’d be hungry.  He thought about it, and trudged upstairs to brush his teeth.  I told him he had to help me get Peyton and everything ready so we’d make it.  But I didn’t budge on giving him breakfast here at home.  So Peyton finished up early; we brushed her teeth, while Brandon got his shoes on and started with his sunblock.  He did not hesitate to do any of these tasks.  Peyton cooperated as well.  I heard no more complaints from either of them.  Peyton and Kaitlyn were the first to arrive. I clocked her in at 728am, so we were well ahead of schedule.  Brandon told me he’d wait in the car to not waste time.  I got back in, and headed off to his school.  Brandon said, “Don’t go more than 40 miles per hour,” down the stretch of street where we used to live.  I asked him why he said that.  He said, “Because you don’t want to get pulled over.”  So he wanted me to get to school, but not too quickly, otherwise if we got pulled over, he’d never make it.  So, I obeyed the traffic signs and we made it to school in plenty of time.  I was secretly happy, since I didn’t want him missing out on breakfast entirely as this would probably make the teachers’ lives a lot worse.  After school, while washing the dishes, I couldn’t figure out why there was only Peyton’s bowl to clean up.  Then I realized why that was the case 🙂
Today, I decided to check out the book store that is closing its doors permanently.  Dave told me to go check it out.  I showed up an hour after they opened, browsed for some things, and realized the discount wasn’t that deep. I did find some things, lured by all the educational books and gagdets, flashcards, etc so I did stand in line.  For 30 minutes.  Worse than Dland rides.  And my arms were killing me!  I had all the books stacked up in my arms, with my wallet, phone and keys all perched at the top.  I walked out of the door, with my chin on top of the stack to stabilize it in my arms, and this guy stuck this huge camera in my face.  I kept walking, away from him, and he said, “So were there good discounts in there?”  I politely told him, “No, thank you,” and walked further away.  I was annoyed.  I was in work out clothes, hadn’t showered yet, and was in no mood to talk to anyone, let alone be on camera.  I told Dave and my mom both said, “You could have been on TV!”  Haha…let’s hope I’m not.  I’d be the rude girl with a stack of books, walking away.
