Easing into things

I’m glad I took an extra day off yesterday to get things going for the new year.  Since I was off, my only concern was to get Brandon to school on time.  Peyton’s alarm went off at 630am, and she didn’t come in.  Mine did too, and Dave didn’t wake up, even through my 3 snoozes.  I finally got up at 7am to get the kids up and fed.  I got myself ready, then Dave came in to shower.  I didn’t know it, but Peyton had already come in, by about 715am.  Her CD had played all the way through and was off by this time!  I asked Dave to keep Peyton entertained after he was done showering so I could get Brandon ready.  I wanted to start his day off right, and in a good mood, so I slowly woke him up.  He was still groggy, by now it was 720am, and said, “I’m still on Hawaii time!”  I think he may have heard me say this a few times already to other people.  But he was right.  He WAS still on Hawaii time, as he normally gets up at 630-7am and is bright-eyed and bushy-tailed.  I helped him get dressed (normally he does it on his own), but since he was still so sleepy, I wanted to make sure the job was done.  I got their breakfast ready, and rushed them to brush their teeth.  Instead of going to CDC, I dropped Brandon off right at the playground in time for the bell to ring.  I had Peyton in tow, carrying her so she wouldn’t get knocked over by the bigger kids.  After saying bye to Brandon, we headed to Peyton’s school.  It was 830am by the time we got there.  I brought in her birthday treats and told the teacher I’d be back later in the afternoon to help her celebrate and take pictures.  She wasn’t sad that I was leaving, but she didn’t look happy either.  All her girl friends were surrounding her as she took off her jacket and we put things in her cubby, but she was indifferent.  I had already prepared her that we’d only have breakfast at home since we slept in and she’d have to wait for snacktime to eat at school, since it was after 8am.  She was okay with that.  I’m just glad she didn’t cry when I left.  She kinda just walked away, no hug, no kiss.
I did some cleaning up at home, then got my new running shoes, ran in them, and came home to shower.  I headed back Store Kamagra out of the reach of acupuncture4health.ca buy viagra online children. We picked up Brandon after, got him ready for swimming, then Dave came home.  Peyton and I ate dinner, I gave her a bath, and then we played Kinect together.  She had a lot of fun!  We stopped when Brandon and Dave came home, so Brandon could do his homework.  When putting them to bed, Peyton whined that she wanted to sleep in our room, and separately, in the other room, Brandon complained he wanted someone to sleep with him in his room.  I told them both that we only do that in hotels on vacation.  They accepted it.
This morning, Peyton had trouble in that she woke up an hour before her alarm went off. She came to our room, and I held out my hand as I’d done in the past.  Only this time, she wasn’t moving.  She was standing up, holding my hand, patiently waiting it out.  Finally Dave, who had gone back to sleep, woke up again in another few minutes,  sensing another person in the room.  He took her back, and she didn’t complain much.  She returned when her alarm did come back on, but was so tired, she fell back asleep in our bed while I got ready.  I let her sleep, and woke her only to brush her teeth, change her and throw her in the car.  I did her hair at school and let her eat breakfast in the car, though she protested wanting to eat at the table.  Brandon told me, “I think she’s tired because she played too much Kinect last night.”  Haha…funny that he made that connection.  Peyton also complained that she didn’t get to say goodbye and hug Daddy before he left for work.  I told her he left while she was sleeping.  One more day for this short transition week back!!
