We rarely stay home on the weekends.  We usually get cabin fever, especially on a long weekend and make a trip somewhere.  But since there is not much snow in the mountains, we didn’t make the drive up.  And since we don’t have passes anymore, we didn’t make the drive down south.  So today, we just exchanged work out times, with me running in the morning, while tagging out Dave, who rode his bike in the middle of the day.  When I got back from running (8 miles!!), Dave was watching Tangled with the kids.  It was just at the duet part, which I love, so I stayed to watch before showering up.  Brandon then turned away, and was just watching me instead of the scene.  Then he turned back, and was wiping his eyes!  He cried in the theater, but now, he was crying again!!  I was trying not to laugh at him, because, really, there is nothing wrong with crying at movies!  Right, Dave?!  After I finished up, I went back downstairs, and Dave was telling us he wasn’t ready to go yet because it was too cold.  He was giving us many excuses why he couldn’t go riding.  Then, Brandon said, “Um, Daddy, the sun is out now!”  Haha…Dave looked at me, and honestly, Brandon beat me to the punch by a few seconds, as I had been thinking the same thing!  Dave took his cue and started getting himself ready.   After the movie was done, I turned it off, and started doing Brandon’s homework while keeping Peyton entertained with puzzles.  Soon, she just wanted to sit on my lap and have Brandon read to the both of us.  It’s good reading practice for her, too!  I fed them lunch, then put them both down for a nap.  Dave came home during naptime, though I don’t think Brandon ever slept.  He was quiet at least, so that’s all I can ask.
I forgot to mention after her haircut yesterday, while we were leaving the restaurant, Peyton said, “Hi!” to a younger guy walking in.  He looked like he worked there as he was bringing clothes in.  He didn’t hear her (because she barely whispered it), but she tried again, this time with a wave.  This is NOT Peyton at all.  I think something changed when we cut her hair, like what happens with Rapunzel!!  She still didn’t get his attention, and got embarrassed, and bit my knuckle on the hand that was holding hers.  I told her that was nice she was trying to say hello, but that he just didn’t hear him.  I had to tell Dave when we got in the car!!  She also seems a bit more feisty now that she’s gotten her hair cut.
Today, during dinner, she had some corn and broccoli.  When she finished, she said, “Can I have more corn?”  Dave told her we were out.  She said, “Okay, can I have some more cor, I mean, um, ah, (pointing to the broccoli), ahm, broccoli?”  Then, laughing, she said, “I cannot talk!”  Dave commented how “adult” she sounded when she said that.

I then told her that I’d forgotten that I’d put the princess sheets in the laundry, so she couldn’t have them back.  She went upstairs, then came down again, telling me, “I cannot get the sheets in the laundry.”  I told her to go back to her bed.  She said, “But I took the monkey ones off!”  At this time, I had to go inspect what exactly was going on.  The laundry room light was on, as was her room light.  The sheets were stripped off the bed, and the animals were all over the floor.  She’d even taken the pillow case off!  I quickly re-made the bed, took Daddy’s blanket away, to which she responded in tears, and haven’t heard from her again.
Tomorrow will be another day at home.  We’ll be getting ready for the week!
