Shoes!

We were just talking about shoes today, and how Peyton’s feet were too big when it was time to use the shoes given to her from Mckayla.  Her feet were too fat to put in the shoes, like Cinderella’s step-sister.  I didn’t want to put her in full on shoes when she was crawling, so I waited for her to start walking.  Mckayla’s shoes were size 4.  I think Peyton started walking in size 5’s or more.  She’s continued to grow ever since, changing shoes probably every 4-6 months, by 1/2 a size.  Shoes are by far the most expensive thing in the kids’ wardrobe!  As a result of the ever-changing sizes, we’ve amassed quite a collection.  The walk a thon committee has asked for donations of shoes, and we’ve assembled ours.  Here they are, ranging for Peyton from size 6 to 7.5. She’s in an 8 now.  And for Brandon, his shoes range from 10 to 13. He’s in a 13.5 now.  Peyton has two shoes now, and she chose to wear her Ariel, blue shoes.  This is surprising as she normally chooses her Rapunzel shoes, which are pink and purple.  I’m not sure what the difference today was, but she was wearing her pink track suit.  While we were driving to school, she looked down and said, “Oh no, I don’t have blue to blue!” pointing to her shoes and lack of blue on her suit.  I acknowledged her, but didn’t want it to get out of hand.  She shrugged, as did I, and we moved on.  I was half-expecting a meltdown, but I wasn’t going to go back to get the other shoes.  Luckily, I let her pick, so she had to be responsible for her selection.
Here’s the pictures for posterity:
