This morning, the kids woke up at 845AM. Peyton came in to our room, and Dave was going to send her back before I told him what time it was. Shortly after she awoke, Brandon came into the room. We hung out this morning, then I got ready to go to my volunteer shift at work. There was a booth that I had to man for a few hours, so I left the kids while they watched a movie. I worked for a few hours, but they were able to visit me while at work. They made it just in time to share a froyo from our favorite place YL. I beat them home, as they were still out running errands. They picked me up, and we headed out to enjoy the rest of the beautiful day. Too bad I didn’t know what the plans were, since I hadn’t had a chance to change from my “work” volunteer clothes. In fact, as we were strolling around and shopping in stores, people thought I was the hired helped. I blame the official looking tshirt I was wearing.
We headed home to eat our leftover chicken from yesterday. We’d made tarts from berries Dave and Peyton got from the farmer’s market yesterday. I’d made them with the kids before I left. Peyton kept asking, “May I have a tar?” Later, after Brandon also asked for the tart, she added the final T to the word, but it was funny for awhile. Both kids were bathed and in bed by 745pm. Peyton had only slept a little bit in the car, and tried to finagle both a book and her music when I’d offered her a choice of one or the other. She chose the book, then tried to ask for her music, with lots of tears to follow. She finally stopped crying, and seemed to understand no one was coming to her rescue. She must have fallen asleep shortly after that, as I checked on her and there was no movement. Brandon should be out soon, since he didn’t sleep today. I think we’re back to our normal sleep schedule just in time for our regular day tomorrow. Because I was at work, I didn’t take my afternoon nap which is just as well, since I did so yesterday, and ended up staying up until after midnight!
