Today, all kids went back to a normal routine.
Peyton woke up after sleeping for 12 hours! I told her, “You slept a long time!” She said, “Because I want to stay in my own bed!” We know she loves her bed. She didn’t keep her diaper dry, but maybe because she was asleep for 12 hours with the exception of her coming out at 10pm to tell us her radio went off. Scared me half to death! She ran over to me, and said she was putting the puzzle together, but people were pushing her. I loved how she was holding her own there, since Neha is built just like her. She is no match for Brandon, but she is tough enough amongst her peers. I was also happy to see there weren’t any tears but words being used, unlike at home. She tends to cry out of frustration when she has to deal with her brother. Then it turns into a ear-piercing scream. She was happy to come home with me, and even happier when I told her we were picking up Brandon first. As we were leaving, I texted Dave, “She was scrapping with Neha over a puzzle.” Dave’s response, “Did she win?” He, too, wants her to be able to hold her own. When we picked Brandon up, he told us he remained on green today. He brought home some work he’d done. I really hope it picks up, since he is doing word families that he learned in pre-K. I hinted to him to ask for something else to do, but I’m sure he likes it easy. He had to cut and paste the word families “-an, -am, -ad, -at” with single consonants, no digraphs as we’d practiced over the summer. Hopefully it gets harder for him. He’s doing his work nicely, and continues to bring home mistake-free papers. This is SUCH a change from last year!
