Today, Dave got up to ride with Ted. The kids didn’t come in to ask for TV, which I was quite surprised. Instead each was in his or her own room and playing quietly by themselves. Eventually, Peyton migrated to Brandon’s room for more books. They didn’t come out until they asked for breakfast around 8am. They happily ate breakfast, and then wanted to watch Anastasia. Peyton got a little scared by Rasputin, but she was fine when I was watching with them. Dave came home, showered up, then we went to check out a food truck area. Dave wasn’t happy with the selection, as he had his heart set on a Bao, but since they weren’t there, we headed inside the Japanese store for some ramen. Then she said, “I see Vivian!” I didn’t know she knew a Vivian, so I asked her if she wanted to go say hi. She nodded, so I let her down, and let her walk to see her. At this time, I hadn’t even seen a kid, so I didn’t know where she was going. I was just following Peyton. She walked up to a girl, and just stood in front of her. The girl saw her and smiled. I was hoping Peyton didn’t mistake the girl for someone else, but since the girl was smiling back, I figured they knew each other. Both girls were smiling at each other, but neither said a word. Awkward! I was left to introduce myself to Vivian’s mom. I was supposed to take Peyton, but I told her she needed to take a bath before heading out. She didn’t want to. I told her she’d have to stay home with Daddy. She didn’t complain. But I told her she still had to take a bath! She agreed. So, I got a night out without kids! Kiersten, Alexa, Suzanne and Tony were all there. Tony had a larger table reserved, but since it was a smaller group, we changed tables to accommodate 4 of us. Tony was still helping Neena, but was able to hang out with us to catch up when he could. Before we knew it, it was 8 pm, and time to go home. I’d already prepped everything for tomorrow, so I was all set. Brandon has no school tomorrow, as it’s a teacher learning day, so he’ll have lunch at CDC. That’s if he eats anything. Hopefully they’ll make something he can’t refuse 🙂
