Julie’s birthday

We couldn’t come up with a weekend among 5 families, so we picked a weekday and cut out most of the families 🙂 Bonnie and I were working together today, but I was focused on food. And ordering, and then later procuring the food. Since work got in the way of some of that, we had to get through our day. I picked Brandon up, then went home to change my clothes, thinking I had some time. I stopped to get the cakes, and Brandon got a sample, since he’d finished the rest of his lunch in the car. Michelle was going to get the food, but reported in that she was still at work, so I dropped Brandon off with Dave, who met me in the middle of the two schools in a parking lot, then headed to get the food. I circled back around and headed back to the house. Bonnie pulled in first, then was able to help me with food, while I helped her unload baby clothes for the Chang’s. Michelle, then Theresa arrived (I think that was the order…) I was holding Cameron, and was trying not to have a kid cry in my possession, but I was not totally successful. When everyone arrived, we tore through the food, and got to chat a bit, while three little people surrounded us. It was definitely easier to gather locally, as the boys are getting older thus sleeping less, especially during dinnertime. Totally different than just a month ago, when they did not surface from their strollers. We had cake with one candle that Ashlyn got to blow out. We enjoyed a quick dessert, then Bonnie and Michelle headed out. Theresa (Sa-sa) and I got to hang out and have espressos (decaf for me), and have a coffee and pizza party with Ashlyn. I was very excited to hear Ashlyn use my name, “Auntie Robyn”. It’s really neat seeing the kids grow up, especially now that I can have a conversation with Ashlyn. Since I was in her home turf, she was talkative and chatty. She didn’t want to come home with me, and didn’t want either Peyton or me to stay over at her house. Robert may have wanted to come over, as by the time we left, 9pm, I told him the kids would all be asleep. He had Daddy duty, so he could not. When I got home, Dave gave me the report. He had taken the kids to Taiwanese food (of course he can, since I am not usually one to suggest it 😉 ) and since FC closed down!! He got the kids into bed by 830pm, which is much later than usual, but seeing as he was solo, it is fairly reasonable. This week has started off with a party! Now it’s back to the grind of the week. We’re hoping for no rain for Halloween so the kids can go trick or treating around the neighborhood.
