I got in to work earlier than usual since Dave took Brandon to school before heading out to his conference. He also had a list of things to do before heading out this morning, so that really helped out! I dropped Peyton off and was at work by 745 am. I truly think they are better behaved when it’s just one parent. They were both bathed before 615 pm, and at one point, I was still cleaning up, and I’d told the kids to go into their rooms to play quietly. I came upstairs to find both of them, in their own rooms, reading a book! I was surprised especially as Brandon was reading a book about manners. Peyton was reading a book from the Guess How Much I love you series. I sat with each one while they finished up the book they were working on. Then it was lights out at 7pm. I’m hoping for a silent night! Peyton turned to me at dinner and said, “I love daddy.” Brandon kept asking me if he was coming home for dinner. Peyton had to remind him that he was in Monterrey and that it was two hours away. She clearly pays more attention, as I was surprised she knew the distance away it was.
