Young Grasshopper

Tonight, Brandon had basketball practice, so Dave took Brandon and his parents to the gym. Peyton was still shooting around at home, and she didn’t want to go yet. She is so determined to get the ball in, and Dave helped by getting her a smaller ball. But it’s a bit too small. I love the way she twirls the ball like some “real” players do. After she was done eating, she still didn’t want to go to practice. Today was the only real day I had to go, since I’d gotten home early from work. I gave her a piece of cake, and told her she could eat it but only if we exercised afterwards. She balked, then as I pulled the cake away, she agreed. After she was done with the cake, I brushed her teeth, and we set out on foot. I put on some reflective clothing, and put a bright pink jacket on Peyton as it was already dark when we left. One of the conditions to walk was to riddle the rides, and I had to start based on her terms. She happily played with me, and we bantered back and forth with rides in both Florida and California. The gym is about 1.5 miles away, and I reminded her that we used to walk to Brandon’s t-ball practice at the elementary school, 1.5 miles away. She used to complain and needed to be carried, but she was only 3 years old at that time. We made it all the way to the gym riddling the rides, and in the last 2 minutes, we played alphabet animals. I was walking pretty quickly, since it was dark, and I was a little worried about walking around with her. She had a spring in her step, and she was giggling and with me the whole way. She never slowed down, and not once complained! What a difference! We got there, and I ran into May, waiting for her daughter at gymnastics. I talked to Keri, while she was there with Bella and her other two daughters. Additionally, inflammation cialis for sale canada and pain tend to go together. Bella is taller than Brandon, and she may be a force to be reckoned with, given her 12 year old sister is 6 feet tall. And Bella’s the tallest sister! Peyton did a great job sitting down with me, while I chatted with Keri. I didn’t even see Dave’s parents, but Dave told them to “not be visible” as he didn’t want Brandon to be distracted. And he didn’t want to be embarrassed (Dave, that is, not Brandon). We followed out Tyler and his dad to ask for their email address for Brandon’s upcoming birthday party. (No rest for the weary, as Brandon’s is already in a few weeks!) Dave went to grab his parents, who had been watching practice from the opposite corner where we were.
When we got home, Brandon ate dinner, while Peyton took a bath. When she came back, it was time to practice the piano. We went to do that, and then I asked her if she wanted to do a recital. She nodded and told me to gather everyone. I told her to, and she was reluctant, but did. She just stood there while everyone was eating dinner, and smiled. They asked her if she wanted them to watch, and she nodded. Eventually, they came over, and she played very tentatively. She made it through Twinkle Twinkle, then everyone clapped! I told her to do it again, but this time a little louder, a little more “forte”. She walked over to me, and whispered in my ear. She whispered, “No clapping.” I told Dave, “Boo yao,” and he knew what I was talking about, then translated for his parents. She did it again, and this time, we just gave verbal acknowledgement of a job well-done. She was so proud! Brandon was showering and missed her performance, so he wanted an encore. Peyton was happy to give him one, then he said, “Teach me, Peyton!” Here is my little Grasshopper, in teacher mode, going from a student earlier this month, to the teacher that she aspires to be 🙂
