Yesterday was quite busy. I picked Peyton up, then Brandon, then we headed to Peyton’s 7th year check up. Where has the time gone?! We saw this ad for German Christmas downtown, and I wanted to check it out. We had breakfast and coffee at home and both kids did their piano practice as instructed.  Peyton volunteered to go first. We headed down and got food tickets first. We then walked around after Dave got his beer, yes it was 10:30.  Gross.  I guess he was on Germany time.  We walked around to see all the booths then had an early lunch.  We went shopping for gifts to donate then took them to our fire station.  The kids donated the toys then we came home for nap time.  Peyton slept right away then got up after 25 minutes declaring she was done.  I told her she needed to sleep more since she was going to be up late at Misha’s birthday sleepover.   She rolled around for a bit then we both fell asleep on the couch.  She slept for over an hour face down!  We got up and all got ready to go. We dropped Peyton off first. We all got out to wish her on her way and brought her stuff in.  We said goodbye and her mom reminded her that she would be fine but to let her know if she needed anything. Dave and I headed up to the city.  We were an hour early.   We had to get there to check in and make sure everything was set up.  We really didn’t have much to do.  But soon Todd and Cathy arrived, and we had company.  We reserved our special nook area then hung out by the bar and waited for hors d’ouvers.  After the apps, we headed to our seats.  I took some pics but not our second course.  And forgot dessert too!! I’m just not good at this! 

We headed home after midnight but not before dropping scott and danielle off so they didn’t have to take the train back.  I drove us home safely but did see a questionable driver on the road.  We weren’t able to get the license plate number but if I had it, i would’ve called it in. I’ve set my alarm to go get Peyton tomorrow.  Excited to hear how she did!

Poor Peyton.  She is too hard on herself.  She was excited to show me her work folder at early pick up today.  It was just the two of us, and I sifted through her assessments.  I found her spelling test, and she had a four (out of five) with one misspelled word, “bike”.   She immediately started to cry and buried her face in the couch.  She was certain she’d written a “k” but the handwriting was a bit suspect.  I calmly reminded her that handwriting is important.  If the teacher can’t read it, then it’s wrong. She cried for five minutes.  At least.  She recovered enough to play piano, but that was a disaster, too as she was learning a new song.  Finally, she asked me to show her her class dojo.  I had been checking it, but I missed yesterday somehow.
