Go TEAM; Name That Tune

After Dave’s bike ride, I asked Dave what he and Ted talked about, then answered my own question, “The Dodgers?” Peyton said, “Let’s go Dodgers,” then Brandon stood up and said, “Let’s go GIANTS!” and lifted up his shirt to reveal his Giants shirt underneath. True fan. Dave wanted to punish him for that.

Screaming!

Yesterday, Peyton was screaming while having fun at the slip and slide. She was the only one screaming, and we tried to tell her to tone it down, but it was useless. Two Outs! Potty Update

Today, though I was a bit distracted by Peyton, I was able to watch Brandon get two outs on his own! He was playing second, which is an awkward position to play as a lefty, but in this division, it’s doable. A ball was hit to him, with a runner on first, and he fielded it just beyond the pitcher, then ran back to second for the force. It was a great play. Dave was coaching nearby, and he was practically on top of the poor boy. I don’t know if Brandon knew instinctively where to go, or if he listened to Dave, but either way, he made a great out. The second play was very similar. He also played first base, and almost had a couple of plays there, but he wasn’t able to field the balls thrown to him. It is getting more fun to watch these guys play!

I’m not sure whether it was a fluke, or the fact that we told her Penelope doesn’t sleep with a diaper on, but all week, she’s been earning cards for keeping the diaper dry. She will pee by 8 pm, then not again until 620 am, on the dot, in the morning. Just as I’d thought she was asleep, she woke up just now (755 pm), and headed to the potty. She peed quite a bit, then I helped her wipe, and she staggered back to her room. Right back to sleep. I think her bladder may now be trained! (Better knock on wood, just in case).

Baseball Fun!

Today’s game was much later, at 130pm, so Dave had time to go for a bike ride early this morning. The kids kept busy, while I made them breakfast. Dave surprised us by returning only an hour after setting out. I thought he’d had a flat, or there was some accident or something, but I guess he just rides less without Ted. So he took Peyton to shop for groceries, while I finished up homework with Brandon. We ate an early lunch, and I tried to get Peyton down for a nap early. Brandon was told to go to his room, too, but neither slept. Dave decided to take Brandon to warm up early, while I kept Peyton up, hoping she’d sleep in the stroller. We left about 115 pm, and she fell asleep in the stroller, but didn’t last long at all. She woke up when we arrived to the game, and we hung out in the shade. It was super hot, and I felt badly for the team. At least we were playing on the big field today. After the game, one of the moms invited the whole team over to their house for a water day. We all went home, changed the kids, and then returned with ice cream in hand. There was a slip in slide set up, along with a trampoline. The other boys were all there, while the parents just sat in the shade chatting. Peyton didn’t want to take her shorts off, but finally, she got comfortable and did so. She was hesitant to join the boys, but Brandon jumped right in. Since Brandon was there, Peyton joined, too. It took her awhile to get the sliding down, but with the help of the kickboard, she flew down the slide! Most of the kids ended up in the trampoline, but Peyton, Brandon, and Tal were left with the water. They went up and down, and back again, over and over. It’s amazing they didn’t get bored of it! They even passed up ICE CREAM! I couldn’t believe it. Now all this makes Pfizer’s order generic viagra a pointless deal and one can easily get viagra for less than 50Rs. We wrapped them in their towels, and told them after the snacks, we’d be leaving. Dave had to go back to work today, so he wanted to get headed out, though we were only there for 30 minutes or so. Peyton wandered over to the trampoline, but there were already too many people in there. And it wouldn’t have been safe for her, given the other kids were much bigger than she. She told me she just wanted to go see. The girl on Brandon’s team to her, “There are too many people in here right now, you can’t come in. Sorry!” Before I even had a chance to respond, Peyton shot back, “But I’m just looking, anyway.” I was so proud of her standing up for herself! She didn’t even think twice about it. After I told her it was time to go, she went back to where Brandon was. We said our thank you and goodbyes, then headed home. It was early, 430pm, but we wanted to go to dinner before Dave left for work. It’s kids eat free night to celebrate Cinco de Mayo, so we did that. We were even able to order 2 entrees for Brandon, since it’s two entrees per paying adult. We didn’t dare ask for Peyton’s two, since we knew Brandon would finish most of it. And he did! While we were eating dinner, Peyton kept asking to go home. Dave laughed and asked her, “Why are you tired?” She didn’t answer, but I knew from her almost falling asleep in my car, to asking multiple times, that she was. I wanted to take my time, since Dave and I split a margarita. Yes, two alcoholic beverages in two days! Unheard of. After dinner, I took both kids home, while trying to keep Peyton up long enough to brush her teeth. Luckily, I’d bathed her before we left for dinner. Brandon showered, while I got Peyton down. I think she was out in 5 minutes, and it’s only 630 pm! Here’s proof that I sent to Dave:

I knew it would happen quickly, given she had no nap during the day, and a bunch of running around all day long.

Who’s Your Daddy? Performance Day

Typically, if I ask Peyton if she loves Mommy or Daddy, she will pick Mommy.  So I rigged the question to ask her, “Do you love Daddy or Daddy?”  She then asked me, “Which Daddy?”  Dave and I were then stumped, but it did give us a good laugh as that was not the answer we’d expected!

After dropping Peyton off, I had two hours to myself before getting Brandon.  I caught up on some reading, then changed to get Brandon. I ran there, so we could walk back together.  I shopped a bit at the book fair, and even got a book for Brandon’s class.  He filled out the nameplate and returned it to Mrs Lindsey before she headed back to her classroom.  Brandon asked me where our car was, and I told him we’d be walking back.  He didn’t mind, even though it was over 80 degrees!  We got home, then he did some homework before we left to wait for Peyton’s performance.  Though we’d gotten there an hour before, there was one person there in front of us.  She prided herself on being first, and bragged to her friend that she was ALWAYS first.  I didn’t remind her that last year, she was behind me, and I was behind another man, but whatever.  This is the aggressive mom who was asking me where Brandon went to school, and she told me she wanted to buy a house so she could have her kids go to the school, too.  I had to listen to her talk to another parent behind me for about an hour, but Brandon doing his homework took my attention away from that mess.  Brandon did his homework, with his multiplication flashcards, proudly wearing his school’s fun run shirt. Ya, I can play that game, too.  We did that for 10 minutes, then he changed to reading.  While he was reading, she switched subjects, and started asking the other parent if they read, too.  She proceeded to tell (me) him that her kid reads an hour each evening, and that they don’t do books from the library because of all that she’s heard about what they contain.  Good thing Brandon was reading our home book.  Then the husband and the other dad behind me started talking about their phones, and how theirs were so much better than the competitor (my phone, that was out, being used as Brandon’s timer).  Yea, I was annoyed.  Dave rescued me by showing up much earlier than expected, and WITH FOOD!  I ate, while he took Brandon away to do vocabulary sentences with him.  I didn’t want to subject him to any more scrutiny from these other parents.  Then, Dave relieved me, while I went to check on Peyton in the classroom.  She was just getting changed, so I took over so the teacher could help someone else.  After she was done, I went back to wait in line.  Brandon was doing well, being patient, and waiting his turn.  I showed him the time on my phone, and he’d do math to figure out when it was time to go in.  It was a good exercise for him, and it made the time go by a little faster, as did the snacks that I’d brought for him.  (The other mom was offering the other kid candy, while I had cheese and an apple for Brandon.)   It’d been 50 minutes of non-stop hearing this lady talk.  There were many things I’d wanted to correct her on (Disneyland is NOT 100 years old), but I had to bite my tongue.  The doors finally opened, and I thought I was done with her, until she and her husband split up, saving multiple front row seats, so that the family behind me could occupy those.  I was shaking mad.  I sat behind her, while Dave sat next to her.  My text to Dave was NOT pretty.  Other friends started coming, namely Orion’s mom, and finally Julie, and I was calm by then.  One of former teachers, who knew Brandon, sat next to him and I chatted with her a bit.  I’d gotten over my madness, and the show started soon.  Peyton’s performance was in the middle, and low and behold, the lady in the front turned around to ask if I wanted to sit in her seat to film since she knew I was waiting for Peyton, and we were in different classes.  Okay, so that was a cool move (one that I’d made with her last year when I was before her in line, and I’m sure she remembered), and I thanked her.   I had Brandon behind me with video, while Dave was further away. I shot photos, but the teachers told me the wrong side of the stage, so we were a bit off from where Peyton was.  She always seems to be sandwiched between other kids, but she did her best to get some real estate.  Here’s what Brandon captured.  Here’s the after video, of just her.

After the performance, there were snacks outside, and the parents were supposed to bring kites to fly.  We’d done it the other years, but somehow, I hadn’t planned enough to bring that along with the camera bag and tripod.  I lined up with Peyton for food, but she was telling me she wanted to fly the kite with Misha and her dad.  Misha’s dad asked me if it was okay to take her to the big field, and I told him it was okay.  By that time, Dave and Brandon had joined me in line.  We got food and headed to find Peyton.  She and Misha were having so much fun! In fact, one of the other moms (Sydney’s) wanted to set up a playdate with Misha, Neha, Sydney, and Peyton.  All alpha girls!  Sheesh.  That should be interesting.  I’m glad that they do want to play together, and it should be fun!

We left and headed to eat dinner.  Peyton picked our restaurant though with some help from Dave.  We ended up at the place they went on their own.  It was happy hour, and after a long day, we both had a drink!  We’d driven separately, so I needed to walk it off a bit after dinner (I was fine, walking under my own power, not even red).   We walked to a nearby place for shaved snow.  We shared a mango and green tea.  By that time, I was totally fine.  We headed home, and got the kids down.  Now, Dave is taking a break from screen-free week, and we are watching the LA/SF baseball game.  Good thing the kids are asleep, so they don’t see their dad’s shenanigans.

DDS Day!

We dropped Brandon off and watched flag salute for a little bit, but since it was a particularly longer assembly, we left a little early. I told Peyton we can go to the dentist early to play on the iPads, but she said, “But today is STILL screen-free week.” She was right! So instead, I told her if we hurried, we could read a book in the waiting area. She liked that just as much as the iPad idea, and it wouldn’t violate screen-free week. We were called back early, since we’d gotten there early, and Peyton hopped into the chair. The hardest decision she had to make was what flavor toothpaste. The hygienist provided many choices, but Peyton selected the new flavor, vanilla ice cream. She’d learned her lesson last time that mint and bubble gum did not taste good together, or separately for that matter. After the hygienist was done, she asked Peyton what flavor fluoride treatment. This is unlikely to be significant, but you should be aware that if it does occur it may make you feel dizzy. http://pamerstoneinc.com/index.php?loc=contacts purchase cheap levitra Generic vardenafil online same active ingredients and in same dosage as in any other sildenafil citrate under a brand name. levitra is strictly regulated by FDA in their strength and purity but it is still difficult to regulate all the medicines as some manufacturers are from outside U.S. These behaviors or personality traits are deeply rooted, and take time and significant effort to free samples of levitra pamerstoneinc.com change. Dr F came in to count her teeth, and said we’re doing a good job brushing, though we need to floss some more in the back. I’ve not been that good about flossing her, since she has such big gaps in her teeth, but the molars are closer together. She picked her toy, and then we read one more book before leaving. We got to school, and the kids were already outside. I’d warned the teachers she may melt down, but even before we got through the classroom, she told me, “Goodbye, Mommy!” I barely had a chance to give her a hug!
Here are her pictures

Stylish

I was putting Brandon’s clothes out for tomorrow, and I was having a hard time matching a pair of plaid shorts to something else on top. Open House

Tonight, we attended Brandon’s open house. Peyton and I met Dave and Brandon there. Dave was talking to one of the basketball dads when we walked up. We headed over to Brandon’s class, where he was our tour guide. He got a clipboard and his sheet, and he proceeded to walk us through the various stations. As always, he was very quick with his work, and we had to slow him down. Peyton helped with that, as she wanted to see each thing he had done in the classroom. I was most excited about seeing Flat Stanley, as he had gone a long way, to visit Brandon’s cousins. I snapped a picture, and sent it to the cousins, to show them what Brandon had done with their photos. I even asked the teacher about it, and she said Brandon arranged the pictures, while she glued things down for him to make sure there was enough glue. I told her how excited Brandon was about the project. Mrs L even said that SHE takes photos with Flat Stanley when she goes on vacation! After we finished up with his class, we headed to view some of the 2nd grader rooms to see what is in store for next year. We noticed Brandon’s classroom was VERY neat, and in fact, they won the “Cleanest Classroom Award” this past week! I missed the presentation at Flag Salute last week, since I’d gone in to work that day. We went into some other classrooms which weren’t as neat as Mrs. L’s, so they really do a good job! Dave and Brandon left so he could go do his homework, while Peyton and I waited a few minutes for the book fair to open up. It was super crowded, but I did find what I was looking for – some summer reading books for the kids. I had to tell Peyton to find some more challenging books to read, and she ended up picking a chapter book! She told me, “But you can help me read it though.” After waiting in the long check out line, we headed over to get a small cup of ice cream. Peyton took her time eating it, as usual, but after I was done, I asked her to walk back to the car. She did okay, and she didn’t spill any. Here are the pictures I took this evening.
