Game Day

Dave took our guests to the airport today, and he returned to his “normal” day job. He did help by taking Brandon to school one last time. I went about my day, and then I left to get Peyton. We hurried home, then I got Peyton some dinner, as well as gathered my leftover lunch, since we got lunch at work. We arrived after the visitor (us) ups. I missed Brandon’s first at-bat. I did get the second, where he was safe at first. The first two innings were coach-pitch, and then it was kid-pitch. Nathan pitched inning #3 and #4, and then after 47 pitches, my boy was called up to the plate! Again, nerve-wracking! Especially when his arm is not the most accurate. I think he even balked, but he doesn’t know what that is 🙂  He pitched out of the inning, but we lost the game by 3 runs. This is an improvement over this team, but we fought a good fight. Brandon almost cried when the coach reamed him for a missed play at first. But, he did catch a pop fly, which he’s been working on! Actually both Brandon’s caught pop flies today. There were some highlights, even though it was a loss. The team is definitely working things out, and they definitely have improved!

Peyton was with me for only the first few innings, but after she was done with her dinner, she was gone. She was having fun with Alana and Kai playing tag.  Peyton saw a teammate, and she told me she said hi.  They were hanging out for a bit, and his mom came over to say hi to us.  Peyton is definitely “coming out of her shell” as Coach Tom has observed.  Glad she was able to do this via baseball!
