Closing Ceremonies

This morning, we had to be at the field by 930 am. Since we’d had a late night, we didn’t want to rush the kids to get up too early. Both entertained themselves until about 8 am, then we headed down for breakfast. I took my time getting ready, and Dave left with the kids before 930 am. I finished my coffee and breakfast before heading out myself. I needed my own car after the ceremony, so I wasn’t able to walk there like I normally would. I made it there right before 10 am and found the t-ball group. Brandon was with the Farm team. It was pretty hot out, but since it was early, it was tolerable. The ceremonies were hard to hear as the PA system wasn’t working. Dave had to go out and announce his coaches, and most improved player. Then, he had to run out with the farm team when they were announced. After the ceremony was done, the head coaches handed out the trophies and year books. Peyton and I went to get strawberries to take to Sydney’s then we headed back home since she was hungry and hadn’t eaten all of her eggs for breakfast. We headed back to the game, only to find out that it was still planned for 1230 pm, an hour away. We headed back home to get a nap in, but Peyton wasn’t able to fall asleep before we had to head back. We were all set up with our bleacher seats and umbrellas (finally, at the last game of the season, we got our umbrellas!). It helped us beat the heat, as did the water that we had. Peyton and I lasted about an inning, enough to watch Brandon pitch again! He got a strike out (against his friend Theo) and also hit Ayush, his teammate from last year. He was pitching better overall than he had in the past.
Peyton and I made it to Sydney’s as the other girls were just heading into the pool. We changed and then headed in ourselves. It was fun getting her to swim, and she is getting better with more pool time lately. The other girls were playing, but I wanted Peyton to practice more. We had our pool noodles, too, and they were getting in and out of the hot tub, which I wasn’t happy about, since it was too hot! I didn’t want to go in there, since it made it harder to adjust to the cooler pool. We swam for about an hour before getting out for good to go inside to play. The girls played for awhile inside before we headed home. We showered and then got changed to go for the car. Peyton slept the entire way up, and even for another 45 minutes or so at the dealership with me waiting for her in the car. Tomorrow we have the t-ball party wrap up at the park. Never a dull moment!
