Free Saturday

Brandon and Dave went to baseball early this morning, while Peyton and I laid around. Literally. Well, I did, and she watched some TV. Practice was supposed to last until 10 am, but the boys didn’t come back until around 1030 am. Peyton was having trouble when they did come back, so we decided to split up again. Dave took Brandon to his eye appointment, while I made Peyton do some work. When she was done, we went to the store. I was going to take them both to the library, but with her attitude, that wasn’t going to happen. She was behaving while we were in the store. In fact, we were rounding the corner in the store, and I heard “be careful” in Chinese as another cart was coming around the corner, when Peyton looked up and said, “Hi, Vivian!” I looked up, and it was Vivian and her mom! We chatted with them for a little bit, long enough to ask Vivian where she was going to school. Peyton answered where she was going to school, too. Vivian is going to the school we would have attended had we not moved from the condo. We took off, and we headed back home. I fed Peyton lunch, and then I sent her to take a nap. I asked her to close her door in case Brandon came home and was too noisy. She listened just as I asked. She was being a model citizen now! Dave and Brandon came home about an hour and a half later. She was still sleeping! I wonder if she had more sleep if she wouldn’t do better in school. She gets almost 12 hours a night now…so not sure how much we can squeeze in, but she really needs her naps! I woke her up after they got home, since I’d wanted her to sleep tonight, too. She was still sleeping even after I’d kissed her on the cheek twice. Finally, she woke up, but she was still groggy. I took her downstairs, and she laid around for awhile before fully waking up. I wanted to check out the art and wine festival, but it was Brandon’s turn to melt down. So, we left the boys, and we headed to the festival. It was super crowded, but we stayed together walking up and down all the booths on the main street. I was looking for something for my grandma, but it was just so crowded! Peyton whined about being hungry, but after a certain point, we had walked so far in, she needed to hang on and walk back to the car. We lasted about 90 minutes before going back home. I’d bought some food at the festival to eat when we got home. She ate the half of the chicken from the kabob, beets, some spicy carrots, and some green beans. I knew she was hungry, as the first bowl of food disappeared. Luckily, I’d only given her two carrots, because they were pretty spicy. Both kids were in bed by 730 pm, as Dave wanted peace and quiet for the football game tonight. Baseball game is at 3 pm so we’ll try to keep them a little busy in the morning. Peyton lost her electronics this morning, so she’ll have to do something unplugged for the game in the afternoon.
