Three of Us…almost

This morning, Dave wanted to fix the car, so he did that while Brandon ate breakfast and did his worksheets. Peyton and I facetimed this morning, since Dave made me feel bad that I didn’t wish her good night since I was out last night. She showed me her new cheetah stuffed animal, and informed me of her name and birthday. They looked for one that had a birthday closest to hers, and they found January 18th. Brandon got into the picture, too, and the kids were both being silly. He got bored, then left, and Peyton continued our conversation. We hung up, then we took a ride with Dave since he needed a mechanic’s help to loosen a bolt/screw. While he did that, Brandon and I set off on foot toward the farmer’s market. Dave was going to meet us there when he was done, or somewhere along the way. We made it about 15 minutes out before Dave pulled up next to us. We went to the farmer’s market and picked up some fruit and corn. We then headed to an acai food truck that I’d been following but never pinned down to date. I got a large and split it with Brandon. Dave’s not a fan, so he preferred to wait. We went to a sports store to look at bikes, then I ended up with a sandals purchase for our trip. We stopped for lunch out, then headed home. While there, we picked up our bikes. Brandon wanted both of us to go, but Dave’s bike isn’t suitable to ride with us. So, after much convincing, Brandon was okay riding with me. The last time, we all rode together, and he enjoyed it. He was afraid I was going to get lost, and we’d never reunite with Dave again. Not quite true. We tried to convince Dave to borrow a G-bike, since there were many around that we passed, but Dave did not want to be caught dead on one of those things! There was also an abandoned bike that Brandon was convincing him to pick up and ride. Since he declined any of those options, Brandon and I set off on our own. We stayed mostly on the paved road, but we were led to an unpaved section, and Brandon was worried about his tires popping, so we turned around. We were going to be out for at least an hour, while Dave was just going to go watch on the golf course. But, after slightly over 30 minutes, we found him again on the trail, walking around. Brandon was done by then, and I was, too, as he was making unwise decisions to stop in the middle of the trail and drifting outside of our lane. It was too risky with other bikers around. We packed up and went to do more errands, like return some dress shoes my mom had bought Brandon for the trip. They were too small, and since she didn’t have his feet with her, she was guessing at his size. We headed home for dinner, and Brandon ate until he was so stuffed, we found him lying on the kitchen floor, stretched out in defeat. He got to play a bit more before it was bedtime.
Here is our trip along the shore…
