After our dinner last with Tracy and May, we decided to head up to science day at AT&T park. The kids woke up at around 7 am or so, and it was off to the races. Peyton practiced piano first, then Brandon, with little time to watch tv. Dave got us out of the house by 830 am, and we were off to the train. We stopped by his work for some snacks, but we were told there was no water there, so we didn’t get what I wanted, which was coffee. Peyton yanked another tooth out so she chewed on some tissue to stem the flow at Dave’s work. The train was uneventful, and we thought we were early, so we did a coffee run a few blocks from the stadium. By that time, May and family had come in to town. They were already walking around on the field when we arrived. We headed to the club level before going down to the field ourselves. We did a few of the booths, and Dave got some inspiration for science night. We met up with May’s family who had stopped to eat in the shade. We walked around together for a bit, and I bought some science comic books about the intestinal tract, circulatory system and neurology. I’m hoping to set a love of science through anime. We said goodbye to May after a few pictures then we headed to walk around the city. We found a bar that was showing the ucla game, so we stopped there to split a pizza and a salad. Then, we walked around a bit more to the ferry building and decided on egg tarts since it was too early for dinner. By the time we were done with the tarts, it was then time for dinner. We walked back downtown, and Brandon remarked, “We’re not in Chinatown anymore, we’re in regular town.” He was right. We headed to the mall, and I went to shop for more workout clothes, while Dave took the kids to eat. I come down and shared Peyton’s pad thai, though she took all the green beans (and part of Brandon’s!). We then had about 25 minutes to catch the train. Dave was hurrying us up, but both kids needed a potty break. We were rushing to catch the train, when we bumped into Joyce and Vince. We chatted with them for a few minutes, then we started to run. Brandon was not hopeful. He said, “Well, we just wasted time!” But, Dave had Peyton jogging, keeping her well-paced, while Brandon held his own. I had two bags full of our gear and water bottles, and I did my best to keep up. Not running for a few weeks has gotten the best of me! I was hoping for 10,000 steps today, and I sure got them! We made it to the train, with a few minutes to spare. The kids were spent, but they remained awake for the short ride back to the car. Then, we all fell asleep in the car, while Dave got us safely home. It was only 745 pm or so, but the kids didn’t have problems brushing teeth and going to sleep.
