30 hours

Thursday after work, I picked Peyton up from the ice skating rink and took her to piano. I was so tired after five hours of sleep, I fell asleep a bit.  Then, I went back to get brandon. I got them home and showered them. CDC was having a meeting for next year.  The kids went to go play while I sat with the parents and listened to the spiel. There were some changes being made so I think this was one of the few orientation meetings I’ve made over the last five years.  I came home with them after Dave came home.  We headed to dinner first then they dropped me off at the airport.  Peyton kept telling me, “Bye mommy,” over and over. She wasn’t crying but she was whining jokingly like she was going to miss me. Brandon just asked, “So when’s your flight anyway?”   I got through security without any problem then I headed to my gate. I sat and texted friends having a few different conversations.  Soon enough, the boarding began. I got an A pass, so it was nice to get on quickly.  I was second row and as soon as the door closed, I closed my eyes and went to sleep. I missed snacks and drinks. When I landed, I headed off to find Laurie.  The flight was supposed to be delayed but it ended up taking off on time.  We made it back in 10 minutes to the house. I’d already showered up so we went to sleep. Laurie was taking Maddie to daycare by 745.  I had to check in to my flight the next day at 6 am. So I set my alarmfor 557 am. I did wake up ok my own two seconds before the alarm. Just habit. I then reset it for 645 but didn’t really sleep much.  I got ready and visited with Maddie a bit. She was friendly and said good morning to me. We got her to school, got her breakfast then headed to her parents’ house. I felt like we were back in high school having breakfast after a sleepover. We went to their favorite breakfast place. I love breakfast so I was happy!! After breakfast, we headed to a shopping area to walk around before heading back for a nap. I had to build one in because I was exhausted. This was after having coffee in the morning! When i woke up about am hour later, we headed to the strip. I was in search of the Wahlburgers that opened recently. Dave and I watch the show so I wanted to see it. We went to get ice cream before checking into our hotel off the strip at the Hard Rock. A non smoking room wasn’t ready so we hung out and had some coffee (me) for round two. The hotel is 21 years old and i remember going to Vegas and seeing the new hotel.  Finally the room was ready and we made a call to Ria for the “free” phone call from the room. We chatted with her before getting ready for dinner at 530.  We beat the crowd and had our drinks and dinner. Anthony, another friend from HS, was there with other friends for a birthday party. He joined us for a drink and a piece of my chicken and then headed off. Laurie and I stayed a bit longer before going to our seats.  We had VIP with the hotel room, so it was nice to cut in front of the line. We enjoyed seeing both acts once again. Laurie had never seen New Edition. I’d seen them in 1989 way back in ninth grade. My parents dropped me off with my BF at the time.  This was even better since they’d fractioned off to other groups since then and did songs from the respective groups.     The first act went on at 9 for an hour. We saw babyface in August when Dave and I went alone.  He played for an hour before changing sets.  NE played for almost two hours, finishing up at 1am! I was so going to hurt today. I just took a series of naps over the course of the 30 hours.  I showered up before bed and then set my alarm for 430.  I got to the airport in plenty of time before taking off for leg #1. In my desperation to get away, I booked a one stop flight. So I was going to LaX first. Luckily it’s only an hour and not a long flight.  I’d eaten oatmeal before sleeping. Then I got off and back on to sleep on the other plane. Good thing I can sleep anywhere!  I got picked up form Dave right on time.  I called and Peyton said, “Hi, Mommee!” We headed home as I had school work to do. I worked on my project for three hours before we headed to do our errands.  We’re ne flying kites!
