Today’s projects

After our morning routine of reading and piano, we headed out to the store to get molasses for our gingerbread men. The recipe is one that Peyton transcribed at school. I was asking her if she was sure she got all the quantities correct and that she wrote all the instructions.  She said she did.  We proceeded to make the cookie dough then I sent her for a nap knowing we’d have a long day. While the dough cooled in the fridge, she took a nap. Brandon worked on math then shortly after Peyton woke up. I did check on her to see if she was actually sleeping and she did get a snooze in.

We had lunch and then baked the cookies. We then went to the Girl Scout assembly party for cases of love which raised money and supplies for foster kids. We packed 35 duffles and 25 backpacks with school supplies, toys, and personal hygiene supplies.

We finished up there, then we had a few hours of down time before p and I headed out to the Girl Scouts meeting/party.

Peyton participated in her first white elephant gift exchange. The leaders went around to check with parents and see if any kids would be upset by it.

I reminded Peyton about not being upset by what she got. She knew the deal since we’ve done them at my dad’s office parties in the past.
