Sunday

This was our last full day!

The girls made muffins for breakfast.

Then they worked on a cute perler bead heart. Peyton made half. And Violette made half.

Violette’s dad was home and took us for a bike ride to the local park. This was a site of a secret spy info exchange in the late 80’s. It’s just a normal park, but the swings are set back from the road a bit.

V took her sister’s bike, I had Joy’s bike, and Peyton had V’s bike. Meaning that three of us were not familiar with our bikes.

We took it slowly at first riding around the block to get comfy. I worry about crashing into Peyton. I warned her to be careful as softball season (it really never ends) was coming up when we got home.

Violette got going a little too quickly and ended up like this:

Phew. We kept going. And took pictures on the swings. Before returning home.

They went back to the pool before we came home for crepes! Savory and sweet. Delicious. Peyton declared it the best meal of the trip!

We finished out the evening with a family rendition of Apples to Apples, which I’d not played before. We did have some good laughs over the answers and most importantly, the lobbying of points.

Tonight was the last night. We set a timer to go off just at 9 to allow them a good nights sleep. True to her word, Peyton slept in Violette’s Room. She didn’t cry, fuss or put up any stink as she had the previous nights. She knows what she wants. She said she’d sleep with V the last night, and she was ready. We tucked them in and took a photo of the gift Peyton brought Violette from CA:

Super sweet. They chatted a bit then later, Violette came to us to tell us she was hot. She told us Peyton was sleeping already. Peyton is a lot like her sister. She gets sick in the car, likes to sleep and doesn’t want to chat too long when she’s trying to sleep!
