An Almost Day Off

Today, even though I was at work, it felt like a day off!  I got to go straight to work from home, then while at work, while super busy today, I got to go straight home.  I was so unaccustomed to not having kids to take to school, that I was in the wrong lane while on the way to work.  I almost instinctively drove to Brandon’s school, and had to take quick action to turn into my work.  Dave was the one who took the day off, but based on what he had done today, he sounded pretty busy.  He had lots of errands to do, and didn’t even get the basics done, like laundry and dishes.  And he wonders what I do with my days’ off every week.  I try to tell him how busy they are.  Except I schedule time for the gym, while he got his exercise dropping his car off and walking back home.  Dave dropped both kids off, remembering all the accoutrement that go along taking them to school – the homework, lunch, extra clothes that were washed last night, tuition checks, and jackets.  Not a one was forgotten!  I got a text saying “He didn’t make it to the bathroom in time.”  Then shortly after it was “She pooped twice in the potty.”  I was confused as I thought maybe he was mistaking the first “he” with “she”, but upon further clarification, it was indeed Brandon who didn’t make it while standing in line after lunch.  Interesting that they are reversing roles here.
When Dave went to pick up Peyton, she said, “And where is Mommy today?” and “Nice haircut” (Dave had cut his hair today as one of his errands).   I was telling Dave that normally, on Tuesdays, I don’t pick Peyton up anyways, so it was funny that she asked for me.  Dave said it was because I didn’t drop her off either.  When I got home, she did tell me she “moosed” me again.
While they were getting ready for bed, Peyton said she wanted to kiss Brandon.  Brandon hid under his covers and said he didn’t want a kiss.  Peyton was upset because “I wanna kiss bruddah!”  I told her she could kiss me instead as I carried her out of his room.  She said, “No, I wanna kiss bruddah!  No kiss Mommy.”
Here’s a video (I’m able to download them so easily on my new phone!) taken of Peyton giving me her mad face: angry face
