Ground Zero

We took the subway down to Ground Zero and toured the somber site.  Brandon was surpringly very quiet and played with his NYFD car, like he knew better than to make a scene.  We took some pictures and read some of the monuments, timelines and accounts of that fateful day.  We toured through the nearby St Paul’s chapel, a little known church prior to 9/11, which has since gotten lots of traffic.  There were pictures and memorabilia all throughout.

We then walked back through Greenwich Village, Soho, Noho, and then back to Madison Square Park.  This time we decided to wait in the Shake Shack line for 30 minutes!  We had burgers, hotdog and I ordered a concrete.  It was $6.75 but I didn’t want to feel like I missed out on it, so I went ahead and ordered one.  Since it was so hot, and I wanted to eat lunch first, by the time I was ready for it, I ended up drinking it through the straw instead of eating it with the spoon.  We went back “home” and took our afternoon nap.  For our evening outting, we went to Foot Locker “just to look” and then to Nathan’s for Dave to try their “famous” hotdog.  To me, a hot dog is a hot dog, there’s nothing famous about them.  I told Dave to eat the dog and then soak the bread in water like Kobayashi.  Dave declined.  We also stood outside the front of Madison Square Garden and then walked back through Korea town.  We ended up eating at a Thai place, though, go figure.
