Day 8, “It’s touching!”

So we started out our day watching Tangled on TV. This was the first time I noticed it on TV, actually last nite, and I recorded the next showing so that P and B could watch it today. First time I started playing it, B quickly scampered around saying “I dont like this movie, it made me cry at the end.” He also was concerned about some parts with the evil mother because it is a bit scary. P was fine watching it, but at some moments she tried to cower behind her blanket. We didn’t watch the movie the whole way through because I decided to take the kids to the Campbell Farmer’s Market. Before we headed out to the market, and while they were watching Tangled, B started turning on a toy power drill that he hadn’t played with in a long time. P was annoyed and told B, “stop it, this is on,” referring to the movie. So we headed out to the Farmer’s Market. My goal was to get them a fix on some fruit, but also to check out a new cupcake place that had opened up. I gave them some fruit, but also bought a few vegetables. We checked out the cupcake place, but I didnt buy anything. It seemed fairly typical, and I didn’t see the need for more 3.50 cupcakes.

On our way home, I wanted to take the kids to a park. I found one that looked pretty decent. Immediately after I arrived I overheard Dad say, the “indigenous people haven’t arrived yet.” I wasn’t sure if I should take offense to that, but I was really at odds with what he said. The play structure was actualiy really impressive, but I didn’t feel like staying too long. Didn’t feel very welcome. B and P did have fun and I will have to go back some time when we get a chance.

We got back home to have lunch, and let me tell you, the corn I bought was awesome. I overheard someone at the market look for “the corn guy”. I feel lucky that I decided to buy some, cause this stuff was awesome.

The kids took a nap, and then in the afternoon I decided to take them out again. I wanted to make sure they got enough time to play and exercise. We went to another park and had dinner. They were really tired, cause they fell asleep in no time. By the way, after their naptime, and before going back out, I let them finish watching Tangled. B said this movie was “touching”, which is why he didn’t really like watching it. He would run away at various parts of the movie to avoid watching either the scary parts, or the emotional ending. Must take after Mom.
