Day 9, “Where mommy go?”

I guess it never get’s old. R has been gone for 9 mornings but P still wakes up, comes into our room, and asks “where mommy go?” I say the same thing every morning, “she’s on vacation.” And she follows up by asking, “on vacation?”

So at least for the morning, I already had something planned for the kids to do. I have been trying to get them to go to Lowe’s for the longest time to join in their Build and Grow activity. We have just always been busy on the Saturday mornings that they host them. I had to drive all the way to the SSF Lowes because it has consistently been the only Lowe’s that doesn’t fill up. Although when we got there, another family was there without reservations. Today’s activity was to make a miniature school locker. This one was pretty easy since it was a basic shape. It really must of taken us only about 10 minutes to complete for both P and B. I helped with inserting the nails, but they both took part in hammering them down with their mini hammers. P giggled each time we hammered a nail down together. Next time will be a Jimmie Johnson 48 Lowe’s race car. Sorry, I’m a NASCAR fan.

After Lowe’s I thought about going north to cross the Golden Gate Bridge just to do some local sightseeing, but I got as far as Civic Center before I got annoyed by the traffic. We headed back south and I stopped by at a Los Altos Farmer’s Market. That is where I have been meeting T some weekends for a bike ride, so I figured I’d check it out. Pretty much the same as all of the other Farmer’s Markets, with the same vendors, but we got to try out some fruits and veggies.

I’m struggling to figure out what to do tomorrow. B keeps asking, and he keeps telling me that he is bored of CDC. At least before bedtime, he was proud of being able to make at least 5 friends at his new school. One of which was a first grade girl that he mentioned taught him how to twirl on one of the jungle gyms. Go B!
