Memory

Peyton has inherited my memory only I think it’s better! She knows both Dave’s and my phone numbers, and Brandon doesn’t reliably know them. Problem is she won’t go up to a stranger to ask for help. But he would. So they have to get lost together so she can give him the numbers and he can ask for help.
While driving down, we found out the cousins are in town. In fact, for a second, I thought Brandon spoke Chinese!  Dave was telling his mom (for the first time) that we were coming for a visit.  After we’d already left the house. She was speaking in Chinese and after Dave got off the phone, Brandon said, “Well I guess we’ll be seeing our cousins!” Dave’s mom mentioned Jeff only and I’d caught it too, but I’d didn’t think Brandon would. I guess where Peyton got my memory, Brandon got my nosiness. Since we were seeing Penelope, I happened to ask Peyton what Penelope’s birthday is.
