Boys’ Day

Today, I took Peyton to school while Dave took Brandon on his field trip to the local amusement park. Dave was excited since he’d never been there before. I used to go all the time in high school, since it was relatively close to our house, though at the time, it felt really far (30 minutes on the freeway). Dave was texting me updates throughout the morning, as he was telling me how whiny some parents can be, while the kids are go-with-the-flow. One or two other parents went, but Dave drove in his own car, while leaving Brandon to hang out on the bus with the other kids. He didn’t want to take him separately since he didn’t want to isolate him. It turned out to be a group of 10 kids with 4 chaperones, so that wasn’t too bad. I told him they were good girls, but he was still nervous. The texts slowed during the middle of the day, which allowed me to concentrate, and meant that they were having fun. I was surprised she didn’t go with sweet tomatoes, but maybe she is getting tired of it! So we went home, had dinner here, then after she was done, we headed back out. I’m glad they had fun, and I hope to have fun tomorrow with Peyton. I hear there are only 23 kids going, meaning we probably only have 2-3 kids in each group. The kids didn’t go to sleep until almost 9 pm, which is super late for them! Brandon has another field trip tomorrow, but fortunately, it’s at the local park. Both will be exhausted as we head into the weekend!
