Thanksgiving!

Brandon was able to spend a relaxing Thanksgiving up in Tahoe with both sets of grandparents.  Brandon enjoyed seeing the snow, even though it was way up on the mountains.  We escaped the rain; we were worried as it was supposed to rain on Wednesday night.  We took off after eating dinner with Kenny and Rachel.  We still got stuck in a little traffic, even though we thought the later we left the better.  Once we got up there, Brandon was wide awake, excited to be in Tahoe.  He stayed with my parents, which left us able to get some sleep.   There were activities planned for kids of all ages – Brandon made a turkey out of his handprints.  The handprints were used as feathers.   My mom helped him with it, while I took pictures (have to post those…)!
We cooked in the condo, as usual, waay to much food!  We had all the staples of a great Thanksgiving meal – turkey, cornbread stuffing (my favorite), green beans, ham, sweet potatoes, and then Dave’s parents’ contributions – Chinese pickled side dishes!  My dad loved it because they were spicy.  We hit up some stores on black Friday – looking for electronics, of course.  We showed Brandon “Lake Tahoe”, going right up to the water’s edge.  We passed by Lakeland Village, which will always hold a special place in our hearts 🙂  – who can forget cramming 25 people into one of the condos?!  My mom had brought the MJ set, which was great because all of us took turns playing.  I was able to avoid the casino, but Dave and the Moms went out one night.  Brandon was very upset that he had to stay home.  First, he was mad that my mom left, then he kept asking, “When is Daddy coming back?”  I think he was worried about not having his other bumper there (Brandon stayed with us the next two nights after my dad complained he woke up to a stinky butt in his face; Brandon hadn’t pooped, but sometimes his farts are just as bad).   I bribed him to stay with me by letting him watch cartoons.  They didn’t come back until 2am (they left at around 11pm), and the next morning, we were headed back down the hill, as Chase’s red egg party was on Saturday.   So we got to see the entire other side of the family on Saturday.  Kristin and Robert had also invited Grandma, so we essentially had both sides of the family there.  My parents were seated at the head table (my mom called it the boring table – a lawyer, an accountant, a banker, etc), so Brandon sat in between Dave and I.  Brandon did a great job – he ate more than I did, probably because it was almost 1pm, and we hadn’t really eaten a big breakfast.  He ate a whole bowl of soup, picking out and eating the huge bits of crab first, then ate all the tofu, then drank the rest of the soup.  He only ate a few honey walnuts (usually my mom gives him tons of them); he only ate one bow-bow from the Peking duck (usually my mom gives him 2 or 3).  He liked the “noodles” in the appetizer, then after being told it was jellyfish, he said, “I want more jellyfish”.   He didn’t care for the scallops, but ate his veggies, even the But if any of these symptoms last for long if you take kamagra jelly. viagra purchase buy pop over to these guys The patent rights of the brand pill levitra soft with its manufacturer have now expired and therefore, after the expiry many other manufacturing companies have come out with its different yet effective versions. Mongolian beef, which was a little spicy, but better after we “dunked” it in water to wash some of it off.   My grandma noticed how well Brandon behaves when my mom is NOT around.  When my mom did come around, Brandon wanted to be carried, and wouldn’t sit still or listen to us.  My grandma even told my mom to go away, since she was distracting Brandon.  We notice, it’s about time someone else did, too!  I did tell Brandon to keep his hands to himself if he wanted dessert.  So he proceeded to fold his arms across his chest, wrapping his arms around himself, and nodded in agreement, with eyes wide open.  He gobbled up the entire bowl of tapioca (very yummy) and then we split the next bowl.  We took some family pictures (we forgot our camera), then went back to my grandma’s house to say bye to the Wong kids, who were leaving to drive back home.  Today, we woke up pretty late for us – 8am.  We had Brandon with us, in our bed, just because it was the last weekend day.  So I woke up to a kiss on my cheek, actually two kisses.  After he didn’t get a response from me, Brandon climbed down from the bed and started playing on his own.  He hadn’t seen most of his trucks and cars for a few days!  We made it over to Costco to stock up on essentials before Baby Sister’s arrival.  I think we got there right when it opened, there were hardly any people there.  Afterwards, we headed up to my parents again to eat lunch; Jon and Jenny were in town, and we planned to hang out after lunch.   They were playing mini-golf, so we entertained Brandon with Pop-a-Shot (I’m waaay rusty), Skee-ball (surprisingly better at this than Dave is), and other games where you insert a token in the hopes of tickets.  On one of the games, Brandon hit the same number in 4 out of 5 attempts (only 3 tickets, but really consistent).  Brandon got to see Dave hit a few softballs in the cages, then we met up with Jon after their round.  He didn’t know we were expecting (or had forgotten, I thought I emailed him too), and we didn’t know they were engaged!  We had more leftovers at my parents, then headed home around 645pm.  Brandon had had such a long day, he fell asleep in the car and stayed asleep even after Dave plopped him down on his own bed.

We had packed Brandon’s crocs for hanging out in the condo.  When we got up to Tahoe, we only had one.  It seems we always lose crocs!!  This time was more sad because Michelle had given us some jibbitz – pirates and Mickey ones, which Brandon crammed all together.  Dave looked in the back of the car, and couldn’t find the one that we were missing (we had one in the condo, but couldn’t find the mate).  When we got home tonight, there were no spots in the garage, so we went to the first floor.  As I was pushing the stroller, with Dave carrying sleeping Brandon, I saw the croc!  Someone had put it on the ash tray, in front of the mailboxes!  It was a bit dirty, but it was found!  Luckily we can wash them off pretty easily.  Yay – I hate losing things.
