More Brandon

Dave wanted me to include another of Brandon being in tune with food.  After eating all his food, my grandma gave Brandon some of the pineapple from the sweet and sour.  Brandon said, “Hey, this pineapple tastes like chicken.”  I told him it was pork, and that it tasted that way because it was mixed up in the sauce.  My grandma hadn’t been paying attention to us, and later On the other hand, if you are purchasing them from the market where as in viagra buy case of a middle office in which only thirty percent of the personnel earned promotion at the end of each year. Monkey in the middle; Zoo!

Thursday night, Dave made lasagna.  While Brandon was eating it and Dave was away, he told me, “I liked your lasagna better, Mommy.”  I had made a pan while Dave was in Singapore.  It had soy cheese, whole wheat pasta, and nonfat cottage cheese instead of ricotta.  Dave’s had the usual stuff.  Both had spinach.  Later, I told Dave (in front of Brandon), “Brandon said he liked my pasta better!”  Dave said, “He told me outside that he liked mine better!”  Brandon, diplomat that he is, said, “Well, I liked both of yours, okay guys?”  Haha…poor thing made him the referee.  I guess he knows diplomacy is the only way to ensure he will be fed by either one of us.
We decided to take the kids to the zoo today.  I was worried about them being too cold, bringing a throw blanket for each kid.  Turns out we didn’t need them!  It was a perfect day, given the sun eventually came out, and the kids needed to start stripping off layers.  Brandon walked the entire day.  We arrived at 1030am, and didn’t leave until after 230pm.  The kids got hungry just an hour after we got there, and even though I had snacks, they tore through those.  Dave didn’t want to be forced to eat at the zoo, but once the kids wanted food, they weren’t interested in anything else.  I told Dave we could eat something small, then head out somewhere after.  We ended up all splitting a chicken sandwich, garlic fries (for Dave), sweet potato fries (for the rest of us, though I helped Dave with his), and a fruit bowl.  The kids ate enough, and though he could still eat, it held Dave until we were done.  I think Peyton really enjoys 2% milk.  Dave bought a 16 ounce milk, and she drank 2/3 of it.  Normally she doesn’t drink that much at home, especially over a few hours.  We kept it cold just by covering it up with one of the blankets!  Brandon said he liked the lions the best.  We happened to catch feeding time right at 1pm, as they were opening up the feeding area.  The lioness paced around in front of us, only about 10 feet in front of us.  She was looking at the kids like THEY were lunch.  The lion was a little farther away, but still, we got an up-close look at it.  There were many areas that requested quiet voices, so as not to disturb the animals.  Peyton had some trouble with this, since she was so excited to see the animals.  When we were in the gorilla area, she said, “OH LOOK AT THE BIG ONE RIGHT THERE!”  It was the daddy silverback, and he was huge!  He was standing inside the doorway, surveying the land.  There was a baby boy gorilla, just 2 years old, and 35#.  That’s Peyton’s size!  In just 10 years, he’ll grow to 350#.   We got to see the giraffes pretty close up.  Their tongues are 18 inches, and the kids got so excited when they saw it.  Tonight, Peyton was thrusting out her tongue, and I asked her if she was a giraffe.  She used to do it as a baby, and she did look like that giraffe we saw at the zoo.  At lunch, I looked up and saw Ashley’s family.  Peyton waved to her from outside (they were inside the restaurant).  Mary It can be stress, depression, anxiety, insomnia, female generic viagra low immunity, allergy, skin problems, muscle skeleton pains, neuropathy, etc. Warning: Patients under treatment for the following conditions; or any ongoing managed condition, should consult their GP prior to taking this medicine. * Heart Related & Cardiovascular diseases including http://melissaspetsit.com/ready-key-program/ order viagra aortic stenosis, idiopathic hypertrophic subaortic stenosis and general ventricular outflow obstruction. Even after my grandma gave her a cookie, she did not say “Thank you.”  Neither kid had napped, so I tried to just put her down in my aunt’s room and walk away.  My aunt went to check on her and said she was just talking to herself.  She thought it was funny that she’d talk to herself before she talked to anyone else.  She ended up coming out, so I went back to sleep with her.  She wanted to sleep on the bed, which I was surprised about, but ended up staying there.  My grandma told me I fell asleep first, but we both woke up to hear Brandon’s voice, laughing at a cartoon.  She was lying right where she started!  She was so tired, she didn’t even move.  Brandon hadn’t slept at all.  Peyton whined she was hungry at 530pm.  My grandma wanted to feed her soon, so she got started on things.  Within 15 minutes, there was hot food at the table.  Brandon was hungry, too.  Both ate the broccoli, fish, tofu and rice that my grandma had for them.  After dinner, we packed up to head out.  I started thanking my grandma, as did Dave, then suddenly, Peyton said, “Thank you, Taipo!  Bye, Auntie Jean!”  She hugged and kissed both.  Brandon doesn’t need prompting, and he thanked my grandma on his own.  My aunt followed us down to close the garage behind us, and Peyton was waving so exuberantly, I thought her arm would fall off.  She was repeating, Bye, Auntie Jean!”  It was nice to still have it light outside for our drive back.  Since he didn’t take a nap, he was a bit delirious in the back seat.  We told him he’d need to take a bath, then go right to bed.  He’s now self-sufficient in the bath.  We check on him periodically, only to make sure he isn’t wasting water, but otherwise, he knows how to soap up, dry off, and get out.  Dave showed him where not to exceed on the faucet to avoid a burn.  He’s really careful about that.  I turned the water off, and he did the rest.  I put Peyton down by 8pm, and I think Brandon was already out by then.  I told Peyton I’d go downstairs and get her lunch ready.  She agreed, and I think only because I was working on the lunch.  I was afraid she’d get up and wake Brandon up, so I stood outside the door until I heard a deep, rhythmic breathing.  It took all of 3 minutes, long enough for me to catch up with FB.  That was it.  Now I have to go make good on my promise to make her lunch and wind down this from this weekend.

Potty updates

I’m not sure what prompts Peyton to decide to go or not go to the potty.  I can tell if she’s slumped over or on all fours that she is pooping in her diaper.  Today, she took her pants off, then leaned up against the sliding glass door (it’s still not covered).  Then she proceeded to take her diaper off and flashed her small moon!  I asked where what she was doing, and she ran to the potty.  She did her business, then agreed to put everything back on.  Two minutes later, everything was off again, and she was back on the potty.  Whatever made her nose run is making her having to go more often.  It’s not really diarrhea, but It must be remembered that without an arousal it’s impossible to completely overcome ED causing symptoms such as high blood pressure and common among men over 40. cialis no prescription secretworldchronicle.com If you begin with such thoughts, they not only spoil the joy, find out for source levitra 40 mg but they also have some drawbacks. Chillin’ at home

Today was a home day.  We got a lot done – vacuuming, cleaning up, and gardening!  We went to go pick up some more plants, in addition to the little baby ones that I got for the kids the other day.  Peyton was antsy walking around the store, so Dave and Brandon stayed behind to browse.  When he got back, Dave told me they were looking at basil.  Brandon said, “What’s this, Daddy?” and Dave let him smell it.  Then he said, “Oh, pesto!”  He automatically turns basil into pesto 🙂  .  He loves him some pesto.  Maybe Miss Tarez is right – she is convinced he will work in the food industry in some capacity.  While we were in the car, I asked Peyton, who was wearing her bright pink track suit, “What color is that?”  She said, “Hot pink!”  Hmmm…so specific on her colors.  I guess since she has a lot of pink, she has to define the pinks.
We went to eat dim sum after shopping for the plants, then headed home for a nap.  Peyton had woken up after only an hour, which is unlike her.  Then, the doorbell rang.  She said, “OH! Somebody’s dare.  I’m gonna check out.”  She went downstairs, and Brandon was curled up on the floor, under a blanket, just waking up as well.  He had slept for at least 2 hours – one upstairs and one downstairs.  Dave was watching the Masters.  He said it was a solicitor who rang the doorbell!  That used to never happen in the condo, but happens so frequently here.  Ugh!  Poor Brandon, he looked like he could sleep even longer.
After waking up more, we decided to start watering (Dave had planted while the kids were asleep) and planting the seeds.  Yesterday, I found little pots with soil pods that needed reconstitution with water, and a small pack of seeds.  I got tomatoes, strawberries and one sunflower.  They were from the dollar section, so if they don’t turn out, no loss.  The pots are so cute and very tiny!  I worked with each kid to put 3 tablespoons of water to mix up with the soil nugget, and then put in the little strawberry seeds.  Peyton was very careful, picking up the small seed in both her index finger and thumb.  Brandon tried to get it to stick on his finger, and it ended up in the sink, nowhere to be found.

3/4 family game night

Peyton was very tired tonight.  She has a runny nose (again), and is starting to come down with something.  That meant she was out by 8pm.  I tried to encourage Brandon to be quiet, so that we could play this game he got for his birthday, that requires 3 people to play.  It is like Pictionary, only with Legos.  It is a game made by Lego, so it’s great for him!  It’s amazing how quiet he can be when he knows there’s something in it for him.  I told him if Peyton woke up, we couldn’t play anymore.
Here are some pictures we took:

Brandon put Peyton’s spoon in his mouth, and I washed it off and gave it to her.  She didn’t see me washing it, and said, “It’s germy now.”  I had no idea she knew what “germy” was.  Another word she knows: “stripes”.  She was putting on some socks.  They were striped and furry, like lounging, home socks.  She picked them up and said, “Oh, striped ones!”  She also knows the other polka dot ones.  Funny she can describe her clothing, like the “Valentine’s day” sweatshirt (it has hearts), or “this one has flowers”.  Brandon didn’t have the opportunity, since I don’t think he’s ever had any polka dot socks.

It was a dog house!  I guessed it correctly, so Brandon and I both got one point 🙂

Owning it; Mean?

Weng asked Brandon last weekend if he took good care of his sister.  He had to think about it, and he just started giggling.  Weng said, “I’m guessing that’s a no.”  Since we’ve gotten back, Brandon seems different.  This morning, he came down after getting changed, and started eating his breakfast right away.  Peyton had just woken up, so I went upstairs to get her changed.  I was wrestling with her, since she was a big cranky.  She was talking last night again, this time to Grandma.  I had to work Jedi mind tricks on Peyton, who started by whining.
P: I don’t want to put the clothes on.
Me: When you put your clothes on, you can eat breakfast.

She had to do each step – by herself.  By the time we finished changing, Brandon was already done, coming up to brush his teeth – without prompting!  I went downstairs with Peyton to get her breakfast started while I got our lunches together.  Dave had already left for his PT appointment.  When Brandon got done, he came down to play with Peyton’s lacing and tracing princess activity.  I think that’s why he did his whole morning routine in less than 15 minutes, so he could do that.  As Peyton was eating, she said, “I no like almonds!”  Brandon ran over to her and said, “Oh, okay, give them to Brother.”  We got to school early since both kids were so cooperative.  Peyton was reading “If you give a pig a pancake” (her new favorite), while Brandon was reading about sharks.  He said, “Oh, Mommy, sharks have 400 teeth.”  I asked him how many zeros there were; he answered “3”.  I told him it was “4000” then.  I don’t think he knows how many that really is.
When we arrived at school, Brandon said, “Oh Peyton, may I read your pig book please while you go to school?”  Peyton said, “Here go, Bruddah.”  I turned around, Brandon had the book, and said, “Thank you, Peyton.”   Peyton responded, “Thank you,” not really knowing her response should be “You’re welcome.”  I told them both that they were being very polite with one another and doing a great job.  Brandon said, “Can I have a sticker?”  Hmm…either it was what Weng said, or his desire to earn 5 stickers for a prize.  I told him he’s supposed to earn the stickers from school behavior, since I know he can behave at home.
We got out of the car, and Peyton asked for my badge.  She opened the door on her own.  She sorta tripped on the carpet outside and ended up hitting her face against the edge of the slightly open door.  She finds trouble!  The teachers were watching her do all this while waiting in the lobby.  She was the first kid there.  I wanted to hurry to drop her off to get Brandon there before the end of his breakfast, part II.  We did make it for Brandon to eat a second breakfast, cheese toast.
Tonight, Peyton and I were watching AI, the voting off episode.  One of the contestants is named Haylie.  She heard the name and said, “Oh, Kaylie!”  I corrected her with the proper pronunciation.  She repeated “Kaylie!”  I told her it was an “H” and had her watch my mouth for the sound.  After going back and forth with her insisting she was right, she looked at me and said, “Leave me alone, Mommy!”  She’s been putting “Mommy” after everything she’s been saying these days.  “I’m hot, Mommy!”  “I’m cold, Mommy!”  “I go potty on the toilet, Mommy.”  “Look at my art, Mommy.”  And it goes on.  Maybe because she hasn’t seen Dave much lately, but still, I thought I could never get tired of hearing “Mommy”.

Handy Daddy

We were inspired by my work to create a home garden.  Dave went right to work, loving projects that involve nails, wood, and power tools.  The last time he tried something with lumber, he ended up with a bump on his head after all that lumber came tumbling down from our supposed above the garage storage area.  I suppose that’s how they came up with “scrapping” the idea, as that is what happened to the wood that was used.  Take two.  He’s been hammering and pounding away for the last two days, while the kids watched from the kitchen.  Peyton saw the picture that he used as a model, and said, “Oh, look what Daddy make!”
It was this:

I encouraged him to just buy a pre-cut one and put it together.  He claimed our area was a different size, thus the customization that was needed.  Dave was so happy that Peyton thought the above picture was what he had made.
