Today, we all stayed home this morning to take Brandon to school. We drove in two separate cars, but parked in tandem to walk a short distance to avoid traffic. We took our usual pictures in front of the sign, though with some protests from Brandon. We said hi to some of the families we knew, and Peyton even got into the act! She told me she saw her friend Akhil. I didn’t know who he was, but she wanted me to go with her. She pulled me over to where he was with his family, but she didn’t say anything. Finally, he looked up and said, “Peyton!” His dad presumed Peyton was from Jungle, and he was correct. The mom didn’t hear or didn’t make the connection, but she asked if Peyton went to MA. After we left, Peyton and I went to have breakfast at Jamba. She had the oatmeal, while I had a parfait. She enjoyed it, but only ate half. I took Brandon to school to find out who his new teacher would be along with other kids in his class. We saw Theo’s family, and Brandon shyly said hello. We walked over and looked at the names. I looked around to see who else Brandon would have in class – Carter, Forrest, Sean, and Ryan W, all who he’s known since kindergarten. I liked the mango one myself, but was glad to have been able to try both. We left and headed to the store to buy stuff for his lunch tomorrow. I have to start making lunches again for him!
He’s playing now, while we wait around for the class lists to be posted at 4pm. Then we’ll go get Peyton. He journaled that he had a fun summer, particularly his camping trip and Florida.
