Fun Day

With the kids home at 230 pm, I decided to ask them if they wanted to go swimming. Peyton said, “Yes!” Brandon asked, “Where’s Daddy? When’s Daddy coming home?” I told him that he was still at work, and he thought about it, and said, “Okay.” They changed, finished eating lunch, and then we were off. We brought a mini beach ball from a goodie bag, along with some rings and other toys. The kids wanted to stay in the shallow area. Yesterday had been so warm. Today was overcast, but felt muggy. Brandon was in the water first, as Peyton had 5 minutes to sit outside for arguing with Brandon. He convinced me it was warm, but I didn’t think it was. Peyton waited until her five minutes, then came in to join. By that time, I was half-way in, while Brandon told me it was better to just get in all the way. I finally agreed, and Peyton got in, too. They stayed in the water for exactly an hour. Peyton met a friend, Kira, and agreed to share her beach ball. The girl was going to grab it, and Peyton became possessive. She ended up playing catch with it. I chatted with her mom to introduce Peyton indirectly to Kira. Kira would be a kindergartener in the fall. We got out and waited for Brandon to change. I checked him into the kids’ club while Peyton and I showered and changed. We got him, and then all came home before Dave arrived. Brandon showered at home, then we sat down to watch the game. Dave went to go exercise before they were down, and they were in bed at half time. When Dave got home, he said he saw two eyeballs following him from Brandon’s room. He was still up! I was falling asleep on the couch, and he was still up. He’d been yawning earlier in the day, and Peyton fell asleep on the ride home from the gym, so I knew she was tired. Two more days of school for them!
